Kent State University Piano Division To Host Student Scholarship Gala Concert

The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University's Piano Division will host a Scholarship Gala Concert at 5 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 26 in Ludwig Recital Hall. Tickets for the event are $35 per attendee, with all proceeds going toward student scholarships. A complimentary reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages will immediately follow the performance in the Roe Green Lobby. John Williams Will Conduct The Cleveland Orchestra In Program Of His Music

The Cleveland Orchestra announced that composer John Williams will conduct the Orchestra in a special one-night-only program featuring music from his celebrated film scores on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Severance Hall. An iconic American composer, Mr. Williams's film scores are among the most beloved in cinema history. He has also written a selection of works for the concert stage, including a trumpet concerto composed for The Cleveland Orchestra and principal trumpet Michael Sachs, which premiered in 1996. Over the years, Mr. Williams has led The Cleveland Orchestra in numerous performances at Blossom Music Festival; he made his Severance Hall debut in 2018.

The Cleveland Havana Ballet Project to Return to Cuba

Verb Ballets has announced a tour to Havana, Cuba, in February 2020 to continue a four-year collaboration with ProDanza.  As part of The Cleveland Havana Ballet Project, Cuban dance legend and Director of ProDanza, Laura Alonso returns to Cleveland in January to reunite with the dancers of Verb Ballets and stage the full-length classical ballet, Romeo and Juliet. The dancers of Verb Ballets will travel to Cuba in February to join ProDanza for combined performances at The Teatro Nacional de Cuba running February 27 - March 1, 2020.
