Meet Prudence. She’s a bit like Cinderella, but without the shoes, fairy godmother, or curfew. Instead, Prudence has only a taste for adventure and the silver whistle left to her by her mother. On her quest to retrieve a magical mirror, Prudence meets a scheming witch, a one-of-a-kind Wazar, and that Prince everyone keeps talking about…
Prudence is a young woman who is underestimated and unappreciated by most everyone around her. When her mother passes away, Prudence is left with an unshakable sense of self, a taste for adventure, and a magical silver whistle that summons bugs, birds and beasts so that she will never be lonely. Meanwhile, the Prince is on the lookout for a bride. A witch sends Prudence to fetch a magical mirror – one that will allow whoever owns it to win the Prince’s heart – and Prudence sets off on a journey with her trusty whistle.
On a journey far south to a land where the ground moves when the wind blows, Prudence meets fantastical creatures, a powerful Wazar and the royal Prince! In The Silver Whistle, everyone is searching for something they don’t have – beauty, love, respect, or perhaps just a change from the norm.
