DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE will run April 1st through April 23rd with rehearsals in March.Auditions will be by appointment only.CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS FOR DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONEby Sarah RuhlA WOMAN, JEAN: late 30's, single woman (never married), intelligent, funny, has a slight quirkiness to her. There is an "insular quality" to her that is keenly aware of her aloneness. She creates confabulations. Jean carries on Gordon's legacy.A DEAD MAN, GORDON: late 30's to early 40's, slightly cynical, self-aware because he is dead, a realist with regrets. When he was alive Gordon had a poor moral code. Gordon is The Commonality between all of the other characters.
A NOTE ABOUT THE PLAYThe play is a fantastical piece that travels between reality and eternity. Ruhl calls that eternity a sort of heaven/hell with laundromats. The connection between the two worlds is cell phone chatter.
