The play was subsequently adapted for film, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Marlene Dietrich and Tyrone Power, in his final film role. The season kicks off in October with Peter Morgan's FROST/NIXON, apropos for this election year. The season continues with a new holiday offering great for the whole family, Truman Capote's A CHRISTMAS MEMORY, a world premiere adapted for Open Stage by Harrisburg's own Jim Woland. Next is JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, the 1910's installment of August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle of plays that chronicles the black experience in America. Closing the season is Sarah Ruhl's sweet and sexy comedy, IN THE NEXT ROOM or the vibrator play, which is sure to tantalize the patrons of the intimate playhouse on the street leveled of the Walnut Street Garage.

"$334,000 is in the bank with more yet to be received and counted" said Sue McMurtray, Managing Director. With this new money the theater will be presenting shows unlike any seen at Totem Pole in the past and for the first time in over 40 years it will offer a seven show season. Three comedies and four musicals, one with a cast of over 30 performers.

Fulton Theatre will celebrate its 160th Anniversary with a free open house on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Activities include tours through the historic landmark building--featuring the rare opportunity to go backstage, interactive displays on the creation of theatre productions at the Fulton, ghost stories, opportunities to win tickets to Fulton Theatre and Lancaster Symphony Orchestra performances, and an opportunity to operate a letterpress and make your own bookmark inspired by the new Poetry Paths installations in the Fulton's former box office windows.

Oyster Mill Playhouse has announced its seventh production and second musical of the 2012 season, LUCKY STIFF, the first collaboration for the team of Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (music), and its final show of its 2012 season, the comedy MY THREE ANGELS by Samuel Spewack and Bella Spewack and based on LA CUISINE DES ANGES by Albert Husson. The 1955 film We're No Angels, which starred Humphrey Bogart and Peter Ustinov, is based on this play.
