The Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non profit 501c3 community theatre now in its 6th year in the old Elks Lodge at 49 York Street within the first block if Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will once again be part of The Gettysburg Fringe Festival as they present their musical The Secret Garden, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, on June 12, 13, 20 & 21 at 7pm and June 15 & 22 at 2pm at GCT, as well as present the annual Canary Cabaret At The Blue Parrot Bistro on June 13 & 14 at 10pm at The Blue Parrot Bistro located at 35 Chambersburg Street in downtown Gettysburg.

It is an examination of real people that will change how we think about nurses and how we wrestle with the challenges of healing America. The film will be shown Sunday, June 8, at 3:00 p.m., and Tuesday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. A question and answer session with the filmmaker, Carolyn Jones, will be held, immediately following each showing.

On Sunday, June 8, the same day as the nationally televised Tony Awards Ceremony, Civic Theatre of Allentown will present its 4th annual Tonys & Tapas Benefit to raise money for the theatre. Guests will enjoy vocal performances from recent productions, as well as appetizer samplings from some of the Valley's finest restaurants and caterers. Now, it appears that history is repeating itself, and the Fulton is responding by extending the run of its upcoming production of LES MISERABLES until July 13, 2014, two weeks after its previously announced closing date.

Ann Davis, executive director of DreamWrights, honored two local teens with $500 each as recipients of the Ann Brougher Noll Memorial Scholarship on Sunday, May 11th, 2014. The award winners are Megan Cintron - graduating senior at West York Area High School and Kelsey Shealer - rising sophomore at University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
