If you think you know all the ins and outs of live theatre in Harrisburg, think again! To everyone's delight, the end of summer signals the beginning of a new arts season ... but this year will be especially satisfying for patrons, volunteers and supporters of Theatre Harrisburg.

To kick off their season on Thursday, September 4th, Theatre Harrisburg treated their most ardent supporters to a VIP Reception followed by an exclusive performance of "The Philadelphia Story," the Theatre's first production of its 89th season. This year, however, the 100 select attendees were accorded a double treat ... A private performance at the Jay and Nancy Krevsky Production Center ... plus a first glimpse of the nonprofit's new look and website.

"While raising the curtain on the 2014-15 season, we are equally excited about unveiling the results of a communications initiative that was designed to further strengthen our presence throughout the region," commented Theatre Harrisburg Executive Director, Samuel Kuba. "We are extremely fortunate to have a growing and dedicated support base of patrons, and last night's exclusive preview was our signature way of thanking them for their continued loyalty, financial support, and good will throughout the years," he added.

Known far and wide for astonishing audiences with a level of artistry that far exceeds what might be expected from an all-volunteer endeavor, Theatre Harrisburg remains one of the oldest and most respected community theatres in America. Its artistic direction, talent, costumes and sets have been dazzling audiences since 1926. And to help sustain what Harrisburg's new mayor recently dubbed "a shining jewel in the crown of our community," Theatre Harrisburg is also launching a rebranding campaign to spark wider interest while inspiring current supporters to become even more involved with the organization and its programs.

"We are thrilled to be unveiling new communications tools that reflect the spirit of the theatre," stated VP and Marketing Committee Chair, Lisa Ramirez. "Along with an updated logo, we are also launching a new website that captures the vitality of our live performances while providing an informative, user-friendly tool for the Theatre's patrons. We invite the community to get acquainted with our new on-line presence, social media and schedule of upcoming events. Theatre Harrisburg is on the move, and we're very excited about attracting new theatre goers with more contemporary messaging while underscoring our time-honored role in this community."

Long revered as Harrisburg's community theatre since 1926, Theatre Harrisburg currently performs its more lavish productions at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts while showcasing their more intimate fare at their Hurlock Street venue off of Sixth Street in Harrisburg. Further information is available at www.TheatreHarrisburg.com or at (717) 232-5501. In addition to series purchases and single tickets, inquiries about groups sales, sponsorships, and special events are welcome.
