THE MYSTERY OF THE MAGIC FLUTE, A Musical for the Whole Family Coming Soon!

Fitz&Startz Productions, in collaboration with Opera Ithaca, is bringing a music- and laugh-filled production to Kitchen Theatre Company, 417 West MLK/State Street, in October. The Mystery of the Magic Flute by Rachel Lampert, with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, plays for four performances only: Saturday, October 21 and Saturday, October 28 at 1pm and 3pm. Tickets are available online at kitchentheatre.org or by phone at 607 272-0570. Adults $12, children (under 14) $8.

On October 14, 2017, the Hangar will host its sixth and final Charades FUNdraiser. This light-hearted community battle of Charades, hosted by former Hangar Theatre Artistic Director Robert Moss, raises money for the Hangar's education programs. Four teams comprised of local luminaries and Hangar stars will compete on and off stage for one of two titles - Charades Champion and Fundraising Champion.

On October 14, the Long Beach Playhouse Studio Theatre closes its 2017 season with the musical Cabaret. When Cabaret debuted in 1966, it was sexually provocative and edgy for the time. By 1998, the bar had moved up what was considered provocative and edgy. The play was due for an update.

Senator Chuck Schumer toured LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts' campus in Catskill, N.Y. the afternoon of Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Set to open in the spring of 2019, Phase One of the site will include a multi-building facility encompassing a column-free 5500 square foot theatre that can be reconfigured to replicate a variety of New York City stages as well as a lobby, artist housing, and a 5000 square foot studio and event space.

Cortland Repertory Theatre will be hosting a series of three Trivia Nights, to be held on the third Thursday of September, October and November this fall. These fun and family-friendly events are fund raisers for CRT's Youth Programs, and will have multiple categories of questions each night, including pop culture, movies, sports, history and more. The events start at 7:00 PM at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland and will offer free snacks with a beer/wine cash bar.
