Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts presents THE NUTCRACKER with Live 25 Piece Orchestra

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is pleased to welcome for its 18th year, Ovations Dance Repertory Company's (ODRC) production of "The Nutcracker Suite" on Friday, Dec. 8 through Sunday, Dec. 10.

As a special feature, the incredibly talented dancers of Ovations Dance Repertory Company will be joined by the Atlantic Wind Symphony. ODRC's "The Nutcracker Suite" is the only full length presentation of the holiday classic accompanied by a live 25 piece orchestra in Suffolk County.

The young and the young at heart will be captivated by the dazzling blend of choreography by Orlando Peña, lavish costumes, brilliant sets in an enchanting storybook world and an unforgettable Tchaikovsky score performed live to the delight of all the senses. As an added treat, "Indian Spice" celebrates the multicultural flavor of Bhangra music and Indian dance in this special presentation of "The Nutcracker Suite."

Past performances of Ovations Dance Repertory Company's "The Nutcracker Suite" have been reviewed by the New York Times, which stated, "goes far east of the East End in its multicultural approach to the Nutcracker." Newsday has called their production, "'The Nutcracker' Sweet." Tickets for "The Nutcracker Suite with The Atlantic Wind Symphony" are now available online, by phone or at the box office. Ticket prices range from $20 to $35, plus ticket convenience charges. Ovations Dance Repertory Company brings the only full length Nutcracker production of its kindin Suffolk County, featuring a live 25 piece orchestra on Dec. 8 through Dec. 10.

Patchogue Theatre first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County. It still is, with the installation of 1,106 brand new seats during the 2016 renovation. Saved by Village of Patchogue in 1996 and lovingly restored it to its original grandeur, this beautiful and historic venue was in use 230 days with over 150,000 in attendance for its 2016-2017 season. PTPA is an independent community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leases the building from the Village of Patchogue and covers all of the operating costs without any subsidies from the Village. PTPA's leadership consists of a volunteer board of directors and a small professional staff. Patchogue Theatre continues to thrive thanks to the hard work of over 90 volunteers as well as the businesses, funding agencies and individuals who support PTPA by contributing their time and resources.
