- January 30, 2010 Long Beach Opera's first performance of the 2010 season, The Good Soldier Schweik, will make it's final appearance in Santa Monica on January 30th. The production is direced and choreographed by Ken Roht and conducted by Austrian native, Andreas Mitisek. Carnegie Hall Announces 2010-2011 Season by Lauren Wolman
- January 27, 2010 Clive Gillinson, Executive and Artistic Director, today announced Carnegie Hall's 2010-2011 season, consisting of 180 performances and extensive educational programs, featuring collaborations with many of the world's greatest musicians and ensembles from the worlds of classical, pop, jazz, and world music, with concerts presented on Carnegie Hall's three stages and throughout New York City. A major highlight of Carnegie Hall's new season will be JapanNYC, an ambitious two-part citywide festival, led by Artistic Director Seiji Ozawa, exploring the incredible diversity of Japan's arts and culture with more than 40 events at Carnegie Hall and New York partner institutions in December 2010 and spring 2011.

- January 20, 2010 The 2009-10 New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts, geared to children ages 3 to 6, will begin on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., and continue on Monday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street.

- January 12, 2010 Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in an all-Russian program, featuring Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2, with the Russian-born pianist Yefim Bronfman as soloist, and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 8, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, January 12, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gilbert will also lead the Rachmaninoff symphony on the Rush Hour Concert, Wednesday, January 6, at 6:45 p.m.

Garan?a makes her Met role debut as the gypsy femme fatale, reuniting with Alagna following their recent success in these parts at London's Royal Opera, Covent Garden.
