Veteran Journalist Joanne Lipman to share new book on bridging the gender divide in the workplace at National Press Club Headliners Event, March 1

WASHINGTON, Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ In October 2017 The New York Times and The New Yorker published the first major reports that dozens of women, over a period of more than three decades, had accused media mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct and abuse. As more of his alleged victims came forward, women around the world took to social media and used the hashtag "#MeToo" to demonstrate the wide-spread nature and prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, particularly in the workplace.

It was this very issue that propelled then-Wall Street Journal reporter Joanne Lipman to write the article "Women at Work: A Guide for Men" back in 2014. As Lipman climbed new heights in her journalism career, she used her experiences to expand upon her approach to workplace parity and penned her new book "That's What She Said: When Men Need to Know (and Women Need to Tell Them) About Working Together." Lipman will kick-off Women's History Month with a book signing and discussion at the National Press Club on Thursday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m.

While at The Wall Street Journal, Lipman rose in rank from reporter to deputy managing editor (the first woman to attain that post) and supervised coverage that won three Pulitzer Prizes. She subsequently served as founding editor-in-chief of Conde Nast Portfolio magazine and portfolio.com before joining Gannett in 2015. Lipman served most recently as Chief Content Officer of Gannett, and Editor-in-Chief of USA TODAY.

This event will feature a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session, and a book signing. Tickets are $5 for National Press Club members and $10 for the general public. To purchase tickets and copies of the book, please click here.
