Chuck Rizer weaves a story of hope and strength in the face of great odds in his new fiction novel, "Downwind of Thunder" (published by Trafford Publishing). First of the Devriym series, this story follows one young hero's exciting and edifying journey to restoration as bullies and the bullied learn to live in harmony.

After being taunted by bullies, Henry sustains a concussion and finds himself in the land of Devriym as a Meeka. Confronted by the Lord of Lights, he is commissioned to lead the tiny band of Meekas out of oppression. Trusting Ruaq, who gave them helpers along their journey, they overcame adversity to reach the Valley of Lights and their long-lost gift of flight. Henry returns to the world of people, transformed. Now, the chief bully is faced with a life-changing decision.

"Adults as well as children are bullied across the nation and the world. We need the encouragement that can be embraced," Rizer shares. "'Downwind of Thunder' inspires courageous hope for those bullied and transformation for bullies."

Tackling a topic of current and broad interest, Rizer, through his adventure tale, imparts to readers a lesson: "By trusting in the Lord of eternity, they will be transformed to people with courageous hope and compassionate leadership."
