Set in the 1980s (big hair, no cell phones), Amateurs(Tom Griffin) is a "dramedy" about a group of community theater actors and friends who gather for an after-party following opening night of the troupe's ridiculous musical about undertakers. When a critic's unpublished review is accidently discovered and read, the party runs amok as everyone's insecurities, heartaches, desires and pettiness are on full display in ways both raw and touching. A ventriloquists dummy acts as a symbol and hilarious sounding board.
Horace (center on couch) gets into the middle of things with former lovers Jennifer (Brooke Bartell Goergen) and Wayne (Anthony Wizner) as Charlie (Marc Ruffino) makes a point.
