The Ceremony, written by Mfoniso Udofia, is part of the Ufot Family Cycle and will be presented by Chuang Stage in partnership with Boston University School of Theatre and Boston Playwrights’ Theatre. The play focuses on a wedding ceremony that intertwines Nigerian and Nepali cultures as Ekong, the only son, strives to reconcile with his estranged father to complete the ritual of his marriage. This world premiere invites audiences to explore themes of love, family, and cultural legacy. Directed by Lyndsay Allyn Cox, the performances will run from September 11 to October 5, 2025, at Boston University’s Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre.
