My point being though, there isn't enough room for everyone... including the "worthy shows" depending on opinion. I just don't think there's enough airtime.
If by some chance Here Lies Love gets nominated for best musical, I’d like Moses to lead “God Draws Straight” featuring every Filipino actor on Broadway this season on that stage. I imagine Byrne comes out too and strums along to the final chorus.

I had expected that to happen at the final performance, but am glad he wisely chose not to, and simply left it up to the cast to tell their own story. Am happy to have at least hung out with him on the dance floor at that final show thou! :)
I really doubt Here Lies Love will be performing even if it were to sneak into major nominations. It’s long closed and where are they going to get the money to do it?

I think it’s more likely Wicked does a performance for the shows 20th anniversary. I could see Erivo and Grande introducing a performance from the broadway cast. Wicked has previously done a performance for their 10th anniversary on the 2014 telecast.

If that’s the route they wanna go, I’d love a celebration performance with lots of Glindas and Elphabas having their moment with Grande and Erivo taking part.
I’m guessing that every new musical that’s still running (and that can afford to pay for it) will perform on the Tonys —even if it’s not nominated for Best Musical or Revival. No closed show will perform. It’s the best (maybe only)shot some of these underperforming shows will have to make a splash.
On the topic of presenters, some fun ideas off the top of my head:
Angelia Jolie: The Outsiders
Rachel McAdams: The Notebook
Alicia Keys: Hells Kitchen(honestly, she might even perform with them)
Michael Cerveris: Tommy
Aaron Tveit: Carabet
I’m sure CBS will try to shoe-horn in whatever NCIS star or new sitcom cast members in there somewhere.

I was thinking Aaron Tveit for the Eddie Redmayne/Les Miserables connection.

Last year, all the nominated musicals and revivals performed plus A Beautiful Noise probably partly because it was the only new musical running that wasn't nominated (and because they paid for it).
There probably won't be enough room for that this time with plenty of new musicals likely to still be running. Think back to a time like 2017 where A Bronx Tale, Anastasia and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were all doing decent business but none of them performed because they weren't nominated for Best Musical. Meanwhile, Falsettos performed even though it was closed because it was nominated.
So it's going to be all the nominees plus maybe some special performances but I don't think we'll see the non-nominated shows performing.
Might Stereophonic perform? I’m trying to think of whether there’s precedent for nominated plays with music performing numbers at the Tonys, not that there has to be.
(I’m not seeing it until Tuesday, so I don’t know the score yet.)
