People are speculating Cinderella, Dream Girls, and Amelie!

Well I’m speculating “Cinderella,” “& Juliet,” and “Back to the Future.” If “Dreamgirls” does indeed transfer as well, it’s about time.

Oh look, a bibu!

Is the West End Amelie already a transfer of the Broadway Amelie that bombed?

^It's had many revisions and is a wholly new production using actor-muso. I saw it last month in London and it was truly lovely.

The West End version is FAR superior to the mess that was on Broadway. One of the best leading performances I’ve seen in years and a GORGEOUS production that deserves to be seen here in NY.

Based on how they've gone all out for it, I'm assuming Back to the Future is a sure thing. Christopher Lloyd and the producers/writers of the movie showed up to opening night, and Lea Thompson and Michael J. Fox gave it their approval from overseas. Even when they were in Leeds, it seemed like they were sure this would make the transfer. I was initially very hesitant about it becoming a musical, but I've only heard good things.

I wonder if it returns to Broadway, will Pippa Soo take over the role again?

I've heard Cinderella might be coming over sometime next year.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I hope Cinderella transfers over too because I hear it's doing very well in the West End and Emerald Fennell wrote the book!

There would be ZERO reason to bring this show over without Audrey Brisson. She IS this new production and while she deserves to be showered with adoration on this side of the pond as well, bringing the show in without her is pointless.

It would be nice to have Carrie Hope Fletcher on Broadway!

Audrey Brisson from “Quidam?” That is uncannily good casting. And as someone who was obsessed with Quidam since age 12, I have to see it now.

I know NYTix is to be taken with a grain of salt but they seem to be saying ALW's Cinderella will be taking over in late October at the Shubert Theatre?

The discussion on here so far has all been about musicals, but I wonder if anyone has heard anything about a possible Broadway transfer of Tom Stoppard’s play, Leopoldstadt? I had a ticket to see it in London in June 2020, won’t be able to get to London before it closes there next month, and would love to be able to see it on Broadway.

Cinderella tried to get Mockingbird out of the Shubert a while ago, but Rudin wouldn’t budge. They might be more inclined to transfer to a smaller house now, though.

I know we get revivals often, but it would be nice to see Amy Adams in Glass Menagerie make it here.

i’m still sad Dreamgirls never came over, would love for Amber Riley to star and be up for the Tony. my dream Deena at the time was Patina Miller, i think she would be fantastic in the role. has she ever played it?

I don't see Amelie jumping to Broadway right away. I'd expect a off-Broadway transfer to garner some buzz. It's still a pretty small unknown show.

ALW's Cinderella is a no brainer. It'll def be over here. It looks cheap though and the one gimmick of the chairs revolving probably won't happen here, so wonder what they'll do.

The accounts are completely dead but they took the social media handles back in March 2021 on FB, IG, and Twitter for @BTTFbway (current WE handles are @BTTFmusical). I know this isn't uncommon for any marketing agency project and is hardly indicative of if it's actually going anywhere... but it seems like seeds have started being planted. I suppose that's something y'know?

I hope ALW's CINDERELLA never crosses the pond.  It sounds awful.

Wasn’t there chat a few years ago that producers were hesitant about Amber taking on the role on Broadway because she was really unreliable during her West End stint, and missed a lot of performances? I can’t really remember though.

I’d love to see Marisha Wallace take on the role. She played Effie in the WE also and was fab.

Yes, I hate it when the theater gestapo holds a gun to my head and forces me to buy an overpriced ticket to a show I don't want to see. It's the worst.

Remember a few years ago when everyone thought TOP HAT was a guarantee to transfer to Broadway. Never happened and doesn't look like it ever will.
