I'm surprised you would put Jessie in the feisty funny category. When I saw it she seemed either cold or perpetually on the verge of tears. Her Jenna seemed shell-shocked and nervous.
Sara is the only one who captured that sassy seen-it-all wa

When I think of all the Jennas I’ve seen (and I’ve thought all have been really good) I def personally prefer the more sad and stoic Jenna. I just find that more realistic and moving. But yeah I like that there’s different ways you can play Jenna and it can st

Also, regarding the quick announcement, Jordan must’ve literally signed the contract yesterday. The Waitress team has reached out to dozens of “celebrities” and see if they’re interested, and when they’re available. It all happens extremely quickly. "
I def agree with the people saying there’s a difference between star casting and stunt casting. Using Waitress as the example, because the casting of Joe Sugg has caused the latest debate, imo he is pure stunt casting, brought in to boost ticket sales. This is not to say he doesn’t have talent and might not be fab as Ogie, but he’s not an actor or a singer. Sara Bareilles and Kat McPhee otoh I see as more than qualified star casting, not stunt casting, and both were great as
I’m sure Tina at least will be there! She’s been heavily involved in the show and attended the West End opening, and I think was involving in casting Adrienne initially!

They are still using Soshana's"
WTF?! This just seems a little disrespectful to Alison idk. I get maybe with the show closing they might want to be cutting costs but come on! I guess I’m not surprised given that right now they’re using the current London cast to advertise the show on Broadway, lol!
Wait, I thought Patti had said she wouldn’t do the show on Broadway unless Rosalie was also coming as Bobbie! So much for that then lol! I guess the lure of a Tony trumps loyalty!
Based on the above, my guess is it’ll be Jessie Mueller as Bobbie, although that feels like a weird choice to me. But I probably shouldn’t comment on Company anyway because I’m probably one of the few people who didn’t really love the London production and thought it w

The Guardian is not a fan of Tveit either, eek! 3 stars review.
“About that duke: Mutu is a charismatic actor and his scenes with Olivo are taut and charged. Tveit, a handsome face attached to a rich lyric tenor, has by contrast all the sexual charisma of a baked potato. His scenes with Olivo seem friendly, nothing more. He wants them to run

Maybe they're just trying to use up the Shoshana ones for July, and Allison's will start with the August playbill?"
Apparently they haven’t even given Alison her own playbill - they’re using Shoshana’s! I know the show is closing and they’re probably looking to save costs, but considering she’s the lead of the show I think that’s pretty rubbish! I still think it’s rubbish that Stephanie has never had her own playbill number of months she’s played Jenna, but that’s at least understandable because she’s the understudy.

They basically did what american idiot did with Billy joe but did it a lot more often. Its a fine show but it has lasted way past its selling date. the cast should be down on their knees thanking MsBareilles for giving them at least a year more of employment, benefitsetc for keeping them afloat." <

I’ve just checked and they’ve put up what’s left of the premium seats in the stalls to $400!
I knew it was inevitable with the box office receipts really dropping since last autumn and especially the last few weeks but this news still makes me incredibly sad! At the same time I’m happy to have gotten so much enjoyment from this little pie show

Depends whether Samantha wants to go from the original lead in Pretty Woman to what will now be the 7th Jenna (not counting understudies) in Waitress! Also from the show perspective I don’t think Samantha is really a name that will bring the general public in, but I guess it depends on

Yeah someone had leaked it so people knew it was coming. It feels like they waited to roll out the Ashley announcement at the same time as the Lucie announcement, but all that did was have people focus on the Laura situation, so once again Lucie got

Yeah the torrent of ~outrage~ from both west end theatre fans AND some performers who were sticking their oar in was so over the top. Waitress could have handled the situation a lot better in terms of
