So how do you guys think the election with go for the two Senators in Georgia?

Georgia is normally a stronghold for the Republicans, hence why they have two Republican Senators at the moment.

However momentum is on the Democrats side, with the election of Joe Biden, which included taking the mighty scalp of Georgia. Also Donald Trump could have caused distrust for Republican voters, with widespread conspiracy theories with election rigging. Yesterday’s conference called didn’t help the two Republican Senators.

If the Democrats did win it would be Game (House), Set (Senate) and Match (Presidential).

Will be interesting viewing, I will be glued to CNN!

President-To-Be Biden gave a wonderful speech this morning in George in support ot the two Democratic candidates.  We can hope that the U.S. Senate soon turns blue.

Warnock did beat Loeffler in November, he just didn't hit the 50% threshold needed by GA law to avoid triggering that runoff election. Hopefully his supporters have remained strong. Also hoping that the GOP refusing to refute Trump's tirades will indeed hurt the Republican turnout for this runoff as has been speculated. Fingers crossed that all that's happened this weekend is the nail in the coffin we need to remove Turtle McConnell as majority leader.

This Georgian was very moved and touched by Biden's speech. MSNBC replayed it this afternoon, and I heard it on satellite radio driving home. I hope SO badly that we win the Senate.  I have already voted, and I want so much for Georgia's politics to match its aesthetics (it's really pretty here except in winter) and turn Blue,as you said!

I am hoping it turns blue of course, but 7 out of the last 8 run offs in Georgia went to Republicans. Also, a lot of registered Republicans didn't vote for iq45 but did vote for GOP Senators. It's insanely red there (outside Atlanta) and it was a huge deal that Biden won. But, he didn't win by very much. This decides the damn Senate and if we have to deal with them blocking President Biden every step of the way or a majority who actually wants to help us and believes in science. Conservatives in GA do not want things to change and have made that very clear, so we'll see. Hopefully they believe their cult leader about "fraud" and won't vote!

Watching CNN they’re not espousing opinion polls which is worrying.

I am not sure how the votes are divided in Georgia, whether one Senator has half of the state and the other Senator has the other half, or that both Senators are elected by the whole of Georgia, which would be best as both would take in the massive metropolis of Atlanta.

No one thought Georgia would’ve turned blue 2 months ago and other states would’ve been more likely.

Every senator is elected by their whole state, there is nowhere in America where a senator only represents half of a state.

So one Senator isn’t preferential over the other, as both can win, as the same Georgian residents are casting their votes. So it is not as one is representing one half of Georgia which includes the State capital Atlanta and would bias the Democrats, whilst the other half is more rural that favours  Republicans.

So everything is in play, Republican would be favourite to win, as history shows they have done well there, but momentum is on the Democrats side.

The one thing about Republicans, is that they will always vote, regardless. As right wing employs the politics of fear. However this time Republicans may not vote, as if they believe Trump and vote rigging, why would they vote? Some people who traditionally vote Democrat may not vote, but in the presidential election shows there vote has been heard, so why wouldn’t they vote.

More people have voted, than before, which can only be good be Democrats.

If Republicans did win and elect 2 senators, it would show deep down that the Republicans believe vote rigging is rubbish.

Both Republicans are in the lead right now but news sources throughout are saying the Democrats have momentum and/or are going to win...?

From G. Elliott Morris (data journalist of The Economist) on Twitter: "Folks, it's over. We have enough returns to project that both Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff will win their Senate runoffs in Georgia, giving Democrats control of the US Senate."

Oh look, a bibu!

Ladies and Gentlemen history has been made, in a state where African Americans couldn’t vote, where Leo Frank was hung for being a Jew, Georgia has just returned two Senators that are African American and Jewish. Georgia has elected two Democratic Senators in a Republican stronghold.

With a vaccine available the number of Covid cases will drop and the economy will rise, this is awesome for the Democratic movement, this will ensure that Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Republican Senator will become Democratic in 2022.

With people’s lives better and their healthcare protected, it will ensure that Biden/Harris will win the 2024 election, even against Trump, (people tire of conspiracy theories) but this time Biden/Harris will take North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Florida and Texas. With what happened in Georgia can be replicated in Texas.

So it is Game (House,) Set (Senate) and Match (Presidential).

Kansas could be a shock in 2024 too.

Congratulations to Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

Congrats to Ossoff and Warnock... it warms my heart just to say "minority leader Mitch McConnell."

Just woke up, and admittedly I spoke too soon....which is insane If I mull that over, no election should be this nail biting and I never want to care about the counties of GA ever again. "Minority leader" is SOOOOOOO delicious, BYE MITCH. Sort of, anyway. That said, Abrams is a goddess, we made history in a state where blacks couldn't vote and Jews were hung for being Jewish (one Jew that many know of anyway) and mmaaaaaannnnnnn it was literally by the skin of their teeth but GA DONE DID IT

That’s assuming he wins that election. The Republican Senate is fractured and more than a few are pointing fingers at him for crossing the Orange Stain

Both results confirmed now and the percentage win has gone past the 0.5% threshold for a recount, but mind you that won’t stop the conspiracy theories, that a deadman in Casper, Wyoming voted and a ballot box was smuggled in, in the dead of night, whilst Atlanta was under the worst snowstorm for years!!!
