Could social media and cameo aid in the issue with fans thinking they’re friends  Dec 21 2020, 12:39:35 PM

Neither do I...maybe a bribe sometimes. Joking.

Could social media and cameo aid in the issue with fans thinking they’re friends  Dec 21 2020, 11:13:52 AM

Your story about the person who thought they were really "friends" with a celebrity they met reminded of a very similar story a former co-worker told me: Her grandmother had a much younger friend at her church who had a 12-year-old daughter, who was on Facebook, and thought she had "friended" Justin Bieber, back when he was a huge teen idol. The young girl insisted it was really him,and I told my co-worker it was most likely someone impersonating him. She was suspicious, too.

Ann Reinking Has Passed Away  Dec 14 2020, 06:51:37 PM

So unexpected. And so sad...after I logged in,the site returned to the front page and they had just changed it to this announcement. I have a friend who is from NYC,who was an aspiring dancer, and Ann was one of her idols. Such an amazing dancer and one of a kind.

I was allowed to see all three and without a doubt the Broadway personsdida much better job and made effortto make this very enjoyablefor the person receiving it. The one sports person was very bland and quick, IMO you could tell it was all about making a quick buck."

I Was On Stage With Mary Martin  Dec 8 2020, 06:25:31 PM

I've loved Rita Moreno from the first time I heard her on the WSS film soundtrack. The film came out a few years before I was born, but fortunately my musical theater-loving parents played the record a lot in our house. I've seen the film many times as a teen and adult. I've also seen Moreno on talk shows and she's very funny and entertaining.

“The Nanny” Musical  Dec 8 2020, 05:56:12 PM

I didn't know she was like that. Ugh. What a turn-off. She needs to get with Christine Ebersole.

Faucci Says By Beginning of April, Everyone Could Get Vaccine  Dec 8 2020, 05:47:48 PM

Sutton Ross said: "Yes, I agree. It will take months for the majority of people to get vaccinated. There might not be enough in a certain county or state, and other problems may arise. I see Broadway opening in the Fall."

This is exactly what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.

Maybe theaters can open in the fall? Here's hoping.

Beautiful overture. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney film score, too.

Happy Birthday Katrina Lenk  Nov 26 2020, 11:33:12 AM

Yes,Katrina is a very private person. But it actually makes me respect her even more--she's not a media whore. I just can't with those types. I'm looking forward to Company returning, too.

Happy Birthday Katrina Lenk  Nov 26 2020, 09:14:44 AM

I'm surprised BWW hasn't posted anything. But maybe they don't know--the only reason I know is because I saw it posted on Company's Twitter last year.

Anyway,Happy Birthday to the talented Tony winner Katrina Lenk! And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the board! Eat a lot and enjoy.  :)

Camelot (Kamala)  Nov 12 2020, 05:14:00 PM

Randy Rainbow did one on YouTube in August, right after Biden chose her. Look it up.

Happy Birthday to Loretta Swit  Nov 7 2020, 09:14:31 PM

A "true legend" is someone like Bernadette Peters,Angela Lansbury,Chita Rivera,or Patti LuPone. Swit doesn't come close.

Ding Dong the Trump is Gone--this one I sing to myself

I started making a list last month just in case. I had to do something to keep my spirits up.

You Can't Stop the Count! (Marc Shaiman)  Nov 7 2020, 10:14:24 AM

This is great! It made my morning brighter. If Biden wins,Shaiman should sing this at his inauguration.

Lady Liberty  Nov 3 2020, 02:59:49 PM

Beautiful. I think of all 4 of my grandparents who emigrated here and managed to escape the Holocaust. Lady Liberty was the first thing they saw when reaches the shores of this Great country, which I hope will heal someday.

Broadway Cast moral code?  Nov 1 2020, 05:34:53 PM

I remember reading that Sandra Church was Jules Styne's girlfriend at the time Gypsy was being cast, and that was how she got the title role. But after Gypsy, not much was heard about her. I only know what I read, because I wasn't born yet and I discovered Gypsy as an adult in the '90s.
