Seriously. Why does she hate her constituents?

I’ve come to despise her. She’s a tease, but at the end of the day she falls into lock-step with her party. Always.

I don't believe she hates them. I don't believe she ever fully considers them.
Her primary concern is herself and holding on to her seat. Her insurance is her party. Go along to get along.

Because she's blatantly corrupt and cares for nobody but herself. Its a republican trademark.

Although Susan Collins is one of the very few Republican senators who are the reason we still have the Affordable Care Act, I am not by any means a fan. She constantly seems to be trying to have her cake and eat it too, walking that delicate line by expressing her outrage about Trump's actions to appeal to her constituents who don't like Trump while other than ACA, never, ever voting against him to ensure she stays in his good graces and the good graces of Maine voters who support Trump. I'm rooting for a strong Democratic challenger to send her packing later this year.

Having said that, I've heard her called a variety of things including too focused on keeping her job instead of keeping her principles but I've never heard her called corrupt, much less blatantly corrupt. Mike, I'm sure you wouldn't have called her that if you didn't have specific evidence. I would appreciate if you could share what you've seen that led you to that conclusion.

Well, I can't paste the link. But research all the ad money that thanked her for Kavanaugh vote and read into all the dark money at play there, its very sketchy. Article I've been attempting to paste is from the Washington Post.

And frankly, she's a republican. I personally believe all of them except maybe Mitt now are corrupt in some facet or somehow connected to Russian money and funds. I truly believe that, there's no other moral reason to continue having Donald Trump as our President as he is a clear and distinct threat to our democracy. The way I see all this is a massive Republican cover up, its terrifying. And Susan, who's always on deciding votes, seemingly is bought out in favor of her republican ties. Its terrifying.

Not sure why you can't paste a link unless it's some sort of BWW rule. You can certainly give us the title and date of the article so we can Google it.

One of the infinite number of things I despise about Trump is how he applies the word corrupt to anyone who disagrees with him. One of the many things I detest about the right is all their stupid and ridiculous conspiracy theories. Some still honestly believe Hillary Clinton ran and maybe even still runs a child prostitution ring out of a Georgetown pizza parlor. These people are morons. We can fight them tooth and nail on every issue and be as tough and unrelenting as they are yet still not stoop to their level. Frankly Mike, with all of your talk of dark money, her being somehow connected to Russian money and being bought out without any evidence whatsoever, just a bunch of inferences and guesses, you sound just as loopy as they do and one of the reasons I like being on the side I'm on is we're better than that, better than them. If you were to say, every single Republican in the Senate save Romney is completely gutless and morally and ethically bankrupt, that they're too scared of Trump to do what's right, I'd be very hard pressed to disagree with that, but that doesn't de facto mean they are corrupt. You have me in the very odd position of defending Collins, a wishy washy, gutless Senator who I truly don't care for. But my point is not about her, it's about us not being like them. Words have meaning. I hope you are able to choose yours more carefully.

Collins has often stood in support of the GLBTQ community, while many (most?) of her fellow Republicans have not.  I appreciate that.

I have no reason to believe that she "hates her constituents" or that she is "blatantly corrupt and cares for nobody but herself".

in general, i think the rest of the US underestimates how conservative parts of maine are.  it went hilary in 2016 by ~ 20,000 votes (~ 35000 vs 33000).  not exactly a landslide.

i think the majority of republicans (including mcconnell) all hate trump.  but they know the implications of what would happen were he to be forced out of office, and he more or less implements the agenda they want.  so they defend him, hoping they can control his more dangerous impulses/put out his more egregious fires.

Well, I simply cannot copy and paste the link. I am not sure why, the article is from the Washington Post from October of 2018, all centered around dark money groups constantly targeting Senator Collins. You can use google and look it up yourselves. You all seem keen on defending Ms Collins, though! Someone who said the other night she wishes the senate had voted for witnesses, even though she didn't. Absolutely pathetic senator, can't wait to see her leave DC later this year. Good riddance. She's the reason we currently have Kavanuagh in the Supreme Court for his life, and she's a major reason Trump is still President. Anyone who DOESNT believe that most, frankly if not all, members of the GOP in the senate and house are not corrupt are just naive or not paying attention.

None of this is normal politics, anyone who's acting as such is just normalizing the Trump Presidency and Administration. They're ALL corrupt. It's so beyond blatant trump is a threat to our democracy and well being. If people are really just voting in to protect their jobs, then what are we as a country? Protecting a criminal President to protect our jobs? So beyond pathetic.

In answer to the question posed. People do not think alike. People have different opinions. Her votes are all over the map .

You know who else uses the word "corrupt" as a lazy catch all to describe someone whose actions he doesn't like? Trump. I don't think you really understand what the word means. You should stop using it unless your goal is to sound just like the guy you claim you despise.

I’m very aware of the definition, thank you. He also just projects everything, so he also understands corruption because, well, he’s corrupt and bought out. As is the Republican Party. Wasn’t the NRA found to have Russian funds? Hm, they work closely with Republicans.
