I started a thread on this quite some time ago, and the search function is not allowing me to find it so here's a new thread since the season is just less than 2 weeks away! Who's excited? Who are you rooting for the most?

This is a pretty stacked cast. Only person missing is Hatch but after the Dan debacle last season and Hatch's own inappropriate behavior on the island, I'm completely fine with him not returning.

Anyways, id love for Parvati, Kim, Danni, Yul, Adam, Tony, or Ethan take this. An Ethan Zohn win would be just utterly incredible after all he's been through.

I will be happy to tune in. I've been a Survivor fan since season 1.

I would LOVE to see Sandra take a third win.

Agreed. Looking forward to this season after that sh!t show that was season 39. But if I'm on the same tribe as Sandra, she'd be my first target to vote out.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Anyone catch "Survivor at 40" last night? I thought it was a fun look back and they included all the great moments I can think of. Plus, those first 5 minutes!! So excited to see Parvati back, I think she's gonna kill it. She's just that good.

Watched tonight. Not sure what I think. But that’s not unusual for me during the first few episodes of each season. Some interesting twists, but not sure they’re needed. I know they feel the need to change things up to keep it interesting, but I think the basic format of the show is what makes it work. Still, I have faith that with this cast, it’ll get interesting soon.

Ya, last night was very good, but would’ve been GREAT without Edge of Extinction. Who tf thought that was a good idea? Sucked the life out of the 2nd hour tbh. I don’t need to see Natalie running around for her own fire tokens, it’s such a waste of air time. Especially when this game seems so complicated! I enjoyed overall though. Probst I guess said recently they’re done with Edge for a hit so that’s good, but my lord why on this season?

LOVED LOVED LOVED last night and I really disagree about Edge of Extinction. I love Natalie and think she’s one of the greatest players the game has ever had so I hope she gets back in. But those players being able to pull strings that nobody knows about back on the main island is really gonna be interesting to watch.
And also my girl Sandra has an immunity idol now and you just know she’s gonna make a big move. The Queen has come back to rule and this will help her keep her throne.

As much as I dislike the Edge, although was crying at the Ethan scene last week, this season has been awesome!!! Who are everyone's favorite to win at the moment? Im impressed with Sandra and since she has an idol I could see her making the merge. To me she screams merge boot this season. Can't see her winning but she's showing why she's the queen.

While I think a lot of people are playing really strong games, to me, Yul, Sophie, Tony, Sarah, Jeremy, and Michelle have the best handle on things right now. Denise too since she also has an idol. Maybe too early to predict a winner but if I had to, Id go with Jeremy. He seems the most in with everybody but is also not a target. Tony and Sarah too. Should be interesting, was sad to see Ethan go a few weeks back. Hope tonight is fun and everyone has been having fun watching.

Survivor has always been my escape from life, and the last few seasons just haven't done it for me. While its probably due to the characters they have brought back this season, Survivor feels like its back. So much fun with this crew. The $2 Mil seems to really be on peoples minds as well, I mean voting out Ethan Zohn 4th is pretty ruthless after what he's been through lol

I only watch bits of this.  Without giving anything away....was the person who got voted out tonight, a unanimous vote?  Or just the majority?  I only saw the few seconds after the person was voted out.  For the record, I can't stand this person.  Can't see the fan love.

I think Rob showed he's a one trick pony last night, and his strategy to bully (using that word VERY lightly) and control everything only works on certain people and he really has no other strategy. He's a great player but to me he proved he's not a top 5 player last night. Im not sure what else he could have done, but at the same time I think that strategy was never going to work with a group of individuals who have already won the game, he should've tried to be more adaptable.

Just watched this week’s episode. I agree with your assessment. I’m fine with who was voted out. I was actually hoping for it.

I sit on the fence about the island of extinction because in some aspects it slows down the momentum of the episodes.

Well, since you let the cat out of the bag for those record and watch later, I’ll just say I love her, but it was a baller move. I expect that earned Sandra’s mad respect.

^ Agreed, I think anyone who checks the thread on a Wednesday evening is asking for trouble. Maybe spoiler tags just for the 12-24 hours after the show? But since the cat is out of the bag (MORE SPOILERS BELOW)

MAN that was what I needed to distract myself from life!! As terrible as it is to be losing the 2 queens of Survivor, Parvati did all she could in a no win scenario, and Sandra went out in a blades of glory lol. Awful move on Sandra's part, but that move by Denise may have won her the game and this is why I think that:

Now, there's 12 players left with 1 returning either next week or the week after and merge, at least Id presume. The original Dikal group seems to be strong and wanting to stick together, thats Tony, Sarah, Sophie, Yul, Nick, Wendell, and Kim since she voted with Tony and Sandra this evening. Sele now only has Denise, Jeremy, Michelle, Adam, and Ben. I frankly think those 5 stick together, because why wouldn't they? Maybe Adam or Ben flip, but idk.

Denise has now set herself up to be endowed to Jeremy for the rest of the game, she's tight with Michelle and Ben as we've seen in other episodes, Adam hopefully she can re-connect with. Assuming Denise tells Kim and Tony that Sandra sold them out, they'll not feel the immediate need to get rid of Denise. She still has 1 fire token, and is awesome in challenges so I think she's a major post merge threat. Best case scenario for her is Natalie returns form the edge and her, Michelle, Jeremy, and Nat run the game and take on the Dikal 7, with a potential Kim flip coming.

Things are getting reaaallyyyy interesting here. I think pretty much everybody except Wendell left in the game could win somehow, and I don't see things being as black and white as I'm stating in this thread but I could very much see it being a back and forth type thing between Dikal and Sele. Should be fun, hope everyone is having fun watching and distracting themselves!

For those interested, visit robhasawebsite.com for some Survivor coverage. Its Rob Cesternino from Survivor: Amazon and Survivor: All Stars. He's done this podcast for awhile I believe. I dont listen often cause I don't have the time, but I tend to listen to Know It Alls after a big episode like this. He does Know IT Alls with another former contestant Stephen Fishbach every week. He also often gets other former survivors to come on and talk about the episodes. I think I may try and get more into his podcast this week. Its unreal how much coverage this guy puts out for the show and I'm glad I've been told to visit his podcast. Just another option for those staying in! Stay happy and healthy friends :)

Did anyone else think it was odd that Sandra was able to sit out all of the challenges? I thought you couldn’t sit the same person in back to back challenges.
I’m in the minority here - not a huge fan of hers this time around.

Enjoying the season which I’m finally caught up on.

Rule is you can’t if it’s the same voting cycle, ie a reward challenge then an immunity. If it’s a different episode they clearly don’t seem to care.

But man, rough week, wish this was on tonight! Been re watching some older seasons too, anyone remember Yau Man?! Such a delight to watch in a time like this. Season 14 isn’t the best but he and a few other castaways are great.
