Broadway in Chicago posted a photo of their Falsettos Playbill with a new pride logo that has a brick background, and the stripes are now horizontal. Does anyone know if this is what Broadway playbills will look like for the next month as well? I would assume so, yes?

I think someone on the 2019-2020 Playbill thread mentioned that they got the Pride Playbill at Fiddler this week. The brick look is to honor the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. The Playbill online store is selling the Pride playbills for some of the shows so you can also get a peek of them there!

It looks like the Playbill Store is selling Playbills for almost if not all current Broadway shows. Personally, I think $15 is a bit outrageous for a Playbill.

Since it includes FREE shipping, I don’t think it’s that horrible of a price, especially for those of us unable to get to NYC during this special anniversary of Pride month.

I was kind of hoping I'd get one early at Burn This, too, but nope.

I don't know what I was expecting when I heard about the brick pattern. I think I would like it better if it was more of a close up, so the bricks were larger. They don't read that well. I also prefer the vertical orientation of the rainbow pattern.

Hadestown looks particularly good with that header but all of the shows that are still in color vs. B&W look decent.

Do we know if Monday is the strict cut off for these? I’m seeing shows Monday and Tuesday night and am hoping for Pridebills. A lot of theatres may just hand out Pridebills until their stock is gone, no?

I think I read somewhere last year that they change playbills every month regardless of having a surplus, due to the ad payers in each issue. (could be wrong though)

However, a theatre might not necessarily throw them out right away. If they don't have them at your performance, I'd ask your usher or the box office.

At the final Anastasia on March 31, they had stacks of the June 2018 Pride Playbills at the Broadhurst. With so many shows closing this Summer, perhaps that might be a way to get a Playbill if you haven’t been able to attend this month.

Idk if this was an exception, but my SO saw The Play That Goes Wrong last year on July 1st and she still got a Pride Playbill, so my guess would be it's until their stock runs out.

No. When Playbill ships a new month's Playbills, the theaters are required to distribute them at the beginning of the new month at the latest.  However, there are times when Playbook spent shop enough Playbills,  so is not unusual for there to be a mix of old and new Playbills. With Pride Playbills,  if they only have a small supply,  they likely won't distribute at all.

I was at Hadestown today and an usher told a guy who asked for an extra after the performance to take as many as he would like because they all have to go in the trash tomorrow.

Last year July 1st was a Sunday, so most theaters probably didn't get the first of their July shipments until the next day, which is why you may have still received a June/Pride Playbill on the 1st. Since July 1st falls on a Monday this year they'll pretty much all be starting this performance week with a fresh shipment of July printings.

As others have said, because the advertisers pay per month it makes sense that once the new Playbills are received the theaters are supposed to begin using those ones as soon as possible, even if they do have remaining stock of the previous month.
