"Being Alive" is really nice on guitar if you give it an acoustic bossa nova rhythm (think Beatles playing "Till There Was You"). I do it in C, modulating up to D after "alone is alone, not alive." The chords are simple too.

Why don't you try Ed Sheeran songs first? For example, Castle On The Hill, Perfect, or I See Fire. I think they're great songs that sound great. In order to create your own songs, I think you have to play a lot of other writers' works. But those are more pop songs. Rock songs you can check out Three Days Grace. My favorite song is I Hate Everything About You.  How did you learn to play the guitar? I learned on an online platform for guitar lessons - middermusic.com. My teacher at school recommended it to me since it's a pandemic and I need to learn. Why did you decide to start playing guitar? I think it would be interesting to know.

I think a lot of Broadway songs could be rearranged to sound really cool acoustically.

Some that pop right off the top of my head are;
Defying Gravity (Wicked)
She Used To Be Mine (Waitress)
When He Sees Me (Waitress)
Tomorrow (Annie)
Til There Was You (The Music Man)

In "Promises Promises," the song "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" is sung by an actress playing the guitar.

I love playing the guitar. I've been playing for quite some time now, about 7 years. And that's quite a long period for a guitarist, so I don't even learn tunes not invented by me anymore. I come up with them myself in the course of either brainstorming or unexpectedly melodic improvisation. And then there's no problem with the lyrics. I've never had a problem with rhyming words. Recently, I ordered some handmade picks from ironageaccessories.com to have a richer range of sounds and harmonies. I had no idea before that a pick was so important when playing the guitar.
