I also enjoyed Azalea on my recent trip. Good food and friendly service. My only negative was I did feel like the portion size was a bit small.

I’ll second Don Antonio and thank whoever recommended it on here. Fabulous pizza.

Agreed! I just ate here a couple weeks ago for the first time since covid started, and their heat lamp situation is intense! They have only an on/off setting (not a dimmer) and had to ask for ours to be turned off, but the others around us were on (there were only two parties outside at the time, including us), which kept us mostly warm enough. I imagine once it gets even colder, it will be a lot more welcome. I've always liked Nizza and I'm glad their food and service are as good as I remember.

I know it's kitschy but I have a gift card for Planet Hollywood, but the website makes it seem like the Times Square location is closed. Is that permanent or still just waiting to reopen from Covid? Anyone know? I'd hate for the gift card to go to waste as it is the only Planet Hollywood I can imagine I'd ever be near. Thanks!

and Dim Sum Palace has an awesome 50% off Dim Sum between 3-5 on weekdays which I just took advantage of before going to 7PM show.

They were having trouble paying the rent before the pandemic and, of course, it got worse afterwards. They are being sued by their landlord. It doesn’t look good.

Hi! Does anyone have any good brunch recommendations for a pre-matinee meal on Saturday? The closer to the theater district the better, but open to Hell's Kitchen or the on either side of the general midtown area

Boqueria at 40th became my go-to restaurant closer to the theaters. Great ambiance, quick and friendly service, amazing food and good prices.

A place I've been to twice for brunch is the Barking Dog. It's in the open area behind New World Stages - can reach it from W. 49th. Used to be a burger place. Good food, good service and pretty reasonable.

Our favorites: Cafe Un Deux Trois, Friedmans at the Edison Hotel, Glass House Tavern and Marseille. Stay away from Sardi's and Ellen's Stardust Diner!  As my Mom would say, Sardi's that dump!? LOL

This isn't a suggestion, just a memory that came back as I read the suggestions.  I think I was in my early twenties, with two friends and we were all kind of stoned.  We might've gone to see Bette Midler, can't remember.  Somehow we ended up at Mama Leone's (remember that place anyone?).  First as we were eating, a man playing an accordion and a woman in an evening gown and fur stole came to our table.  She started singing in an operatic voice "Some Enchanted Evening".  OK, we were a bit wasted and staring at our meatballs trying not to get the "giggles".  Next thing I know, a big rat ran across the floor and jumped into the fountain!  We asked for the check PDQ and got the heck outta there and never went back.  Thank God they closed that place in the 90's!

I mean, I'd much rather grab an Egg McMuffin than eat at Dave and Busters or Bubba Gump, so it's actually not the worst option in midtown....

I second a previous poster and highly recommend Hold Fast.

I also recommend Dutch Fred's and Mom's Kitchen, also both located in Hell's Kitchen.

Looks like Mom's even offers brunch all day.
