Lots of talk of projections and video and I’m a bit unclear. Are there scenes acted offstage that are filmed and projected? Are the cameras “in” the story? What purpose does this serve dramatically (narratively) or aesthetically? Thanks!
Despite Turnaround, ‘Beetlejuice’ Being Forced Out of Theater Dec 9

Wow, that NYT article really lays bare the behind the scenes stuff! Lots can happen between now and June, so maybe another attractive theater will open up for Beetlejuice. At any rate, what a wonderful turnaround story it has! Glad Music Man officially has a home now.
Show Opinions for December Trip Nov 18

Little Shop and MR are top-notch productions with great casts. Sound Inside isn’t for everyone, but if you like thought-provoking ambiguity anchored by strong performances, it’s worth a gander. Should be an easy ticket to score.
Red Bucket Follies Collections Nov 17

No collections at Tina or Sound Inside as Friday and Saturday, respectively. Nothing at Seared, either, but I’m not sure if the Off-Broadway nonprofits ever collect?
First, I had been to studio 54 twice before but never in the rear mezz. You people ain’t lying about the misery that is the legroom up there. Luckily the row in front of me was completely empty so I could spread out. And the production itself still filled the space well I thought.
As for the play, wowza. I don’t think my reaction is as strongly positive as some of the folks on this thread, but it is still the type of play I go to the theater to see. It suggest
Injury at Tina Nov 16

I was at the show tonight and Leandra Ellis-Gaston covered this track (quite well, I might add, and impressively given this was probably her first time on). Wishing Mars the best! That trapdoor definitely seemed to move fast!

This wins the thread.

Thanks for these updates!
I guess I’m in the minority... I thought “True Love” was the best song they added to the Broadway show. Surprised it’s been cut. Scenic changes sound good!
Sad this didn’t catch on. I saw the tryout in Chicago. I thought the score was a mixed bag, but the performances were top-notch and the book the funniest since Book of Mormon. Congrats to all involved!

I was even back of the Mezz for MR for what it's worth. Helps that both theaters are just a block away from each other. Studio 54 is much farther though so I'd say do it on Sunday night.
Throw in a Sunday matinee and make it an awesome theater day. Have fun."
Thank you! Yes, I also ha
Freestyle Love Supreme After Sound Inside or Moulin Rouge? Nov 8

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I’ll shoot for Sunday night post-Rouge, if I don’t see it both nights. The whole area will probably be less crowded then due to the dearth of Sunday evening shows.
Hicaesar, I’m kind of in your first boat on FLS. The reviews and response here have me intrigued, albeit still not enough to pay full Broadway price. Looking forward to it!
Carolinaguy: small world! I’m in orchestra Row R if we have time to say hi!
Im headed to NYC next weekend to catch some shows (yay!). Im thinking of trying to rush Freestyle Love Supreme for the 10:00 PM show on either Saturday or Sunday night. Im seeing Sound Inside at 8:00 on Saturday and Moulin Rouge at 7:00 PM on Sunday. Both are scheduled to end around 9:30/9:35 and would give me about 30 minutes to get to the Booth. My gut is to go Saturday night because intermission at MR could go over, etc., but Studio 54 is further from the Booth than the Hirsc

Since you've seen the play, is there something (review, synopsis, etc.) that you could recommend reading to give a better idea of what the play is about while avoiding spoilers?"
I don't think this NPR review/writeup is very spoilerish.
What a cast! I saw the play at Steppenwolf and it’s a trip. I actually expect mixed reviews for the play itself, but the performances will be stellar. It’s a true ensemble piece, and I’m thrilled to see some of that cast here. Letts will be haunting in what I assume will be the role of the mayor. Barford and Chamberlain’s reprised performances will be standouts. (Barford could conceivably be a two-time nominee come awards season). I assume Jessie Mueller is playin

Anyone willing to share rush reports in terms of arrival time, number of people, seat locations, etc.? Considering rushing for a 10 PM show in November.

Have they gotten rid of Perfect Crime as a prize? Winning that when you're hoping for a Broadway show is a cruel joke, sorta like getting coal in your stocking for Christmas."
Is that the one where the same actress has done every show since like 1987?"
Indeed it is!
I’ve never seen it but have a story about it. I had s

I see; thanks for the reply. Yes, I do see that tickets are not very difficult to get, and there are $40 orchestra seats for this Wednesday. Two parts is a big commitment, and it certainly hasn’t had the pop cu
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 9/15/19 Sep 16

Can I ask what the concern over Potter is, with it grossing over $1 mil per week? I do see that their prices are lower than they were a year ago and the average ticket price is in the lower range. Are those the reasons for concern?
