Ah, didn’t see your post, Les. Apologies.

I see where this production is now selling tickets through March 30, 2019! Guess we can hold off on that Bway transfer this season! Happy opening to the cast and crew!

Also heard a "name" star was involved.
I'm very very very excited for this.
If we get this and Ivo's West Side Story in the same season... I'll be a very happy camper."

Wick3, I’d imagine a give and take with both producer and director, with Equity also playing a part. Equity seems to have gotten pretty open over the past few years, allowing entire casts to transfer from London. Would LOVE for this to come over! With Roth involved, maybe the Kerr if North Country doesn’t happen, or a very limited engagement at the Hirschfeld pre-Moulin Rouge?

PatrickDC, thanks for your review! I actually enjoyed the fact that there was no closing number. It adds some subtlety and suggests some ambiguity, not to mention shows restraint on behalf of the creators. So, I guess it works for me, but I understand your quibbles.

Don’t feel too bad! They just added the “fastpass” a couple years ago, I think!

Ah, yes! I couldn’t tell what was happening, but my seat mate noticed!

Today’s matinee stopped for about 5 minutes after Santino’s first song. When he came back onstage, he said “Previews...let’s all go out to a restaurant later.” He then sang the last few bars of the song again, and the show proceeded as normal.
I enjoyed the show very much! The book is very solid, moves well, and only a bit preachy. I enjoyed the score, though found many songs forgettable. My favorites were Sandy’s song, the Act I closer, and Santino’s 11 o’clock number.

I hope Sarah Stiles is well. She missed a weekend of shows a couple weeks ago, correct? Seems like last time she had other engagements, so might be the case today.

Seeing the matinee tomorrow! Robert Horn posted on Instagram a photo of a notebook with the story caption “Pencils down.” Could this mean the Chicago production is frozen-do out of towns ever freeze? I seem to recall reading that press opening is Sunday?
At any rate, I’m thrilled to see it after these wonderful reviews in this thread. I’m new to the Midwest (been here just over a year) and can’t believe I’ve already been able to see three out-of-towns in Chicago (regrettably missed Che

Was really hoping for Crazy for You this season, but that seems all but impossible given Stroman’s show in Seattle for March/April.
New ticket block through June 9 is on sale September 27. Fairly small block of new tickets, yes? I wonder if 6/9 has been solidified as the current principals' last dates, and they're waiting to release beyond once they announce the next cast...
This show seems like a less sophisticated, less nuanced DEH that adds little to nothing new to the landscape. Every time I think about shows like this and DEH (which I love), I can't help but lament the fact that Next to Normal (far superior to both) was just a few years too early.
Laura Benanti to replace Lauren Ambrose in MY FAIR LADY Aug 24

Totally just booked a 48-hour trip to see Benanti in this. She will be transcendent. Also catching Lifespan of a Fact and an early preview of TKAM while I’m in town! Can’t wait! (Seeing MFL November 11, in case any of you are.) Looks like they’ve sold several tickets even since yesterday for the three dates I was considering.
Why do people seem to be more excited about this one than all the other hyper-commercial adaptations and jukebox musicals coming this season? I'm not trying to pass judgement on the show - obviously I haven't seen it. But on paper it doesn't seem all that different from the other musicals coming this season in terms of its prospects.
