It's intermission now and I'm really loving it! Score is super catchy. Only complaint right now is Taylor Louderman could enunciate more

Quick intermission thoughts:

Audience is eating this up, jokes are landing like crazy. Kate Rockwell and Grey Henson are standouts, Ashley Park succeeding with Gretchen's vulnerable moments.

Could definitely use cuts, act 1 drags quite a bit toward the end. But at a very good place right now. Some imaginative choreography with desks and lunch tables. Backdrop looks more like screens than projections. Some successful comedic hits with the screens, but they occasionally cheapen the moment.

How is the score? Is it like DEH soft-rock or more like pop-like a la Kinky Boots/Waitress?

I’d say more pop like the latter. Not loving orchestrations. The choreography is phenomenal. Sets are a mashup between old school sliders and projections, but the transitions are brilliant. More afterward!

So you wouldn't say the score is as good as DEH?

I really want to hear more! I am debating whether I should buy tickets now or wait a little bit until the production is in full swing

I actually kind of like that. No spoiling of surprises, knowing Jeff and Nell’s work there are sure to be some.
"

Maybe they left out the song list in case they change songs or re-order the show during previews?

And considering there isn’t any set automation, they could actually do this. So often now shows are unable to truly move things around due to technical limitations.

How is Kerry Butler??

Exactly. It’s not a Dear Evan Hansen score at all. Very pop with some hip hop flair. Maybe a bit too much tribal. This was my biggest issue with orchestrations.Tina’s book is hilarious. I loved a lot of the songs and lyrics, but there’s very few showstoppers as far as the music goes. The choreography is incredible. Very inventive. The first act drags quite a bit, so I imagine there will be some cuts. I honestly expected more in the opening number.. Richmond’s score is good, but needs some work. The act 2 music is in great shape.

Barrett and Grey stole most of the show. Erika was great. Kerry was perfect as Ms. Norbury. Nailed that role. She was good in the others, but was dead on as Norbury. Kate was the standout of the plastics.

They included just enough nuggets from the movie, but this feels like an updated, fresh take. The audience devoured it and broke out in uproarious laughter and applause for many of the movie’s lines.

Here’s my guess at about a third of the song titles. Not in any order.

How was jingle bell rock played out? I'm curious with the CD player being kicked into the audience in the movie was that bit just ejected from the scene? Or kept?

How big are the roles being written? Like, who could feasibly be seen as Leading or Featured possibilities at the Tonys next year? I ask not specifically in terms of these actors' performances, but just the roles themselves (like is Regina the lead role? Cady? Gretchen and Karen?).

They didn’t do jingle bell rock. They called it something else. Rock around the pole I think. It was like 20 seconds. No CD player gimmick. Hilarious though.

Cady is by far lead, but not sure about Tony’s.

Choreography for sure.

My favorite choreography was during the first cafeteria scene followed by the fight before the trust fall. The show is very commercial and mainstream audiences will eat it up. I just hope Richmond’s score gets worked on. It has a lot of potential.

Saw it tonight and I happy to report that it was quite good. Audience was very into it. I entered the lottery and didn't win but for the lottery losers they had some house seats and limited view available immediately afterward. The house seats were a steal! Just a heads up for those of you that don't have tickets yet. Don't know if they will be so generous every night, but good luck!

Some of you will be happy to know there’s no tap number. Lots of street style though.

If you would rate it out of 100 how good was it? Contemplating coming down to DC to see it

What all is entailed with Kevin G’s role in this?
