This Thursday marks the return of WILL AND GRACE. I can't count how many times I've watched the original series and I am so pumped to have these four characters back!
Any fans of the show have any themed food/drink ideas for a viewing party?
I'm excited too. I don't even have very high expectations that it will as good as the original run, or even very funny at all, but it's just great to see them all back together again.
Beyoncé is not an ally. Actions speak louder than words, Mrs. Carter. #Dubai #$$$
The reviews so far have been raves, so I'm hopeful it will be a return to form. Thrgvr said it resembles the first few seasons, and not the farce that the show eventually became. I think it helps that the original creatives are back. It showed once they left during the original run because of that contract dispute. It became less and less rooted in any kind of reality.
Grew up watching this every week with my mother, so I’m very much looking forward to it returning. I’ve been working on catching up on Hulu before tomorrow, but I forgot how lengthy sitcom seasons can be. Especially ones as popular as W&G.
It's nice to have them back. I hope they got the Trump stuff out of their system. I'd like future episodes to be more of a distraction from the disaster in the White House. Still, a good episode, and miles funnier then most multi cam sitcoms these days.
Don't know what to make of tonight's episode It didn't hit the mark for me. Have Trump jokes already become stale or it it difficult to poke fun of something that becomes more of a farce with each passing day. Certainly the Cheetos bit has already become tired.
Then, too, the actors have aged a bit and they seem too mature to by carrying on like this.
Hopefully it'll work out these kinks in future episodes.
Ugh! Wanted to love it but it all seemed so stale and forced. I hardly cracked a smile. I'll give it another shot next week, but, sadly, this could wind up being one of those examples of how you can't go home again.
Most of the reviews were positive. They were given the first 3 episodes. Makes me hopeful it gets better next week. The Ben Platt episode sounds promising. I know the show was never based in reality (especially as the deities went on), but it just seemed a bit much that all 4 of them would be able to get into the White House. Also, what was with the guy that works for Grace? I didn't get the point of that conversation (or his odd facial expressions) at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, I hope the Trump jokes are out of their system. Definitely several LOL moments last night. Just curious where they're going and what the writers have in store for us. They cleared up the series finale in the beginning. I'll be watching!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I liked the tie-in to the election video. It's like they treated it as a previous episode. Sean Hayes' physical comedy is as good as its ever been. Megan Mullally's timing is impeccable. I was never much for the characters of Will and Grace, but they didn't annoy me any more than they normally do.
I hope Tony goes away. That scene did nothing for me.
Bottom line for me, there are FAR worse episodes of the original series. Give me last night's episode over the Demi Moore episode, the Madonna episode, or the Jeff Goldblum episodes any day.
I didn't get very far in watching it. I was disappointed and thought if felt OLD.
Now, I freely admit I was pretty tired having just worked back to back 14 hour days, so I will give it a second chance over the weekend.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I expected good ratings. A lot of people were talking about it on social media last night. Plus, NBC really pumped a lot of advertising into W&G.

Everyone I know was watching it, that's for sure. It was playing at bars, people were having watching parties. The overall impression I get from my Facebook newsfeed is that people enjoyed it and are glad it's back.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
I agree that the aging of the actors felt incongruent to the behavior of the characters. They must be pushing 50. I also felt there was some pushing acting wise. Was it just me or did some of the sets look like sets? The production values felt cheap for some reason.
