Love the theatre and have worked as a singer and dancer for years inc shows like a chorus line, fame,,Tick Tick Boom,Evita etc I now own and run a successful production company in Manchester called Vertigo and have had several hits including Dog Sees God (UK premiere), 3sum (original play) the Breakfast Club, 'M', 'Rage and our award nominated original play 'OUT!' Recently we had the great honour of producing the UK Premiere Productios of Charles Busch Off Broadway camp masterpieces 'Die, Mommie, Die!' and 'Psycho Beach Party'. Both shows were huge hits and sold out. Our original comedy Christmas Sorority Massacre has had 2 productions and we were granted permission to adapt the BAFTA nominated film EXAM to the stage and the play opened to rave reviews. Our original thriller M won Best Fringe Production at the 3MT awards, Mysterious Skin was nominated at the Broadway World UK awards. The original drama Watching Goldfish Suffocate was a huge hit touring the UK and Porno Chic recently opened to rave reviews and and won Best Drama at the GMF awards. New show Noir opens 2017.

The show started life in Manchester, England with the major London set. It was the shows out of town try out.

Beetlejuice is making close to a million and yet people are predicting it will close soon? It had a nice bump after the Tony Awards and its held this week. It's doing fine.

Just wanted to say I disagree with nearly every negative thing in here (bar Shake it Off). The show was fantastic. The leads were superb, the production eye popping, much of the new songs worked (though I wish they kept Like a Virgin and The Show Must Go On) and the act 2 opening incredible. One of the most fun nights in the theatre, and also, the romance came through nicely.
Go judge for yourself, yes the book is just average, but it's stringer than the film book that got bogged down

Isn't this pulling around 800k a month? I don't think it's in jeopardy yet and I think the tourist season will see this one have a big uptick, especially after The Tony performance

Ain't Too Proud - B Started shakey but came in to its own and had me impressed by the leads.
Beetlejuice - A+ All the negative I hear about this show and yet I enjoyed most of the cast recording and this performance knocked it out of the park. They also felt like the ones who knew how to do a number for TV.
Tootsie - B- It was fine, the song is fine, the staging fine, it was fine.
Oklahoma - A- I loved this, im so over this musical but I loved this, A
At least Alex Timbers can redeem himself with Moulin Rouge."
Yea I saw the Boston try-out of Moulin Rouge and unless there are major changes I would not bank on any kind of redemption "
I think you will be in the minority on that one.

I'm shocked for the hate towards the Joanne, I like her. Mark is great but not Mark as we know him, Rodger is good. Mimi acted Light my Candle beautifully, in fact quite a few are acting the roles pretty strong. Valentina is a terrible singer but sweet as hell in the role.
The staging is pretty strong I think, it still feels theatrical but also at times improved by the format (Will I)
I think people on here are way too harsh. To the average person this is a well put together pr

I thought I was gonna hate this, but as soon as the song Rent started I loved it. The cast are good, the staging strong

I used to post on here all the time, spar with Namo over Madonna and devour Margo's posts along with Smaxie's knowledge.
It used to be vibrant and full of fascinating info on here, threads that would go on for 60 or 70 pages and full of information. Now it's kids wanting show curtain pictures, stage door info or merch. Plus the nastiness got way too much on here.
I still check out threads on the board and news each day but not as much as I used to, and I rarely post anymore.

Thank you Born in a Ditch. It has nothing to do with if the show is good or bad, it's the way they sounded like two faux intellectuals after 6 cocktails and a joint.

I have no problem with the way they choose to do a duel review, my problem is how they said it. As a playwright myself I look to reviews good and bad for advice and to learn in the future, I would be able to take nothing from this.
The tone is flat out disgusting, Greene has always come across as a snobby smirky know it all, but the art of critique for the stage is a dying artform, this does not help that.
I don't care how much you disliked a show, it does not give you the righ

The conversation was immature and sounded like twp dated theatre snobs who are stuck in the 50s.
