I have one ticket for Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. that I can't use. (Ugh!) The ticket is being held at the box office. I can't pick the ticket up, but I would like someone to be able to see the show since it is closing this weekend. I don't know how to go about making that happen since I can't pick the ticket up. Suggestions?

Edited to add: I did try calling the box office this afternoon to inquire about putting the ticket under someone else's name. I left a message. I haven't received a call back. Several people have PM'd me. The ticket is in the Orchestra, Row S, Seat 108. It cost $263 including fees.

If you're going to wait for rush, I would line up no later than 7 pm tonight and check with the box office to confirm that they will surely be offering it tomorrow.  There have been no seats left for awhile and plenty of people spent their night camping out from before midnight all week and were to late.

Might there be a chance for a special Tony for this extraordinary production, like the one they gave JCM a couple of years ago for his Broadway Hedwig when he wasn't eligible? I was just thinking about how many awards this show would take if it was in the running. Would love to see the committee recognize this company.

I really hope so but it may be tough given the show didn't comp any Tony voters this season to see the show (which meant Tony voters had to pay $$$ just like the rest of us to see it.)  I understand Tony voters love theater but given how they're used to getting free/comp tickets to the best seats in the house, I wonder if they shelled out $$$ of their own money to get premium seats to see this show or if they just didn't see it (if they're in nyc, as I understand a good percentage of Tony voters don't live in NYC area.)

A friend of mine got there tonight at 9:30pm and was sixth in line with the first person getting there at 8pm.

They chose not to compete, though, so they were eligible for Tonys otherwise.

So technically they can still be nominated. It's just the producers won't do a campaign push for the show to be nominated.

They withdrew themselves from consideration, so I think that is more than them just not campaigning or providing seats.

But do the same rules apply to special awards? I'm guessing the producers of Hedwig didn't give comps to all the Tony voters just to see JCM, yet clearly he still got the special award. Same thing with Hugh Jackman when he wasn't eligible for his one man show. Are the Tony Voters/Nominating Committee the same people in charge of choosing the special awards? I would guess not. If the people in charge of the special awards saw Sunday, I think there is still a chance it could get one. I'm not saying it necessarily will, but I don't think the lack of voter comps is a deal-breaker.

It was a lovely final performance. The audience was low key but enthusiastic and respectful. There was a short speech from Jake at the curtain call. Sondheim and Lapine were not brought out. 

The performances were just as beautiful as they've been since February. Jake's voice sounded a little tired but his dedication to this character more than made up for that. Annaleigh is quite possibly the definitive Marie, just such perfection. 

Just a side note, I overheard a woman complaining to an usher at intermission that the French horn player seems to always miss the final note of the act 1 finale Sunday, sounding cracked/flat.  I've noticed this as well during the several performances l've seen. Even at City Center, the note was missed at the performance I saw. I'm not sure if it was the same player. Have others noticed this? I'm not a musician, is that a particularly difficult note to hit?

I noticed that the first note of the final "Sunday" interval was a mess today too. Glad it just wasn't me. 

"Move On" was exquisite this afternoon, and I nearly lost it when Jake struggled to get out the final "...possibility".

I was at the final performance today, too, and echo everything that ljay reported. This was my third time seeing "Sunday" at the Hudson, and I saw the Encores mounting once, so needless to say I love this show and this particular production. I think I was most emotional today of my four visits knowing I'd have to say goodbye to these performances (I'm so grateful we're getting that cast recording, though). There were a lot of audible sobs in the balcony at the end of the show and much enthusiastic and elongated applause (particularly after "Sunday in the Park with George," "Finishing the Hat," and "Move On", but nothing over the top, which I thought was appropriate and non-interruptive.

I spotted both Sondheim and Lapine in the orchestra, and also noticed Debra Monk and Jeannine Tesori in the audience. Someone next to me said they spoke to Huma Abedin at intermission. Jake gave a short and sweet curtain call speech saying that his heart could burst with gratitude and left the stage in an embrace with Annaleigh.

I also got to chat with Philip Boykin in line to buy merchandise before the show. He said it's been an incredible ten weeks. Such a lovely guy!

Yes this was very emotional!! The way Jake's George struggles to understand that line and make the connection has been a highlight of this production.

I think special awards are just awarded by the nominating committee, no comps required- the Tonys can, if they so desire, give an award to anyone if they deem it deserved. That said, I wouldn't really hold your breath on a special Tony for this production. I will admit that I wasn't as enamored of it as most, but the Tonys rarely give special awards, and I'm not sure they'd give one for a show just because it was well-done. 

Glad to hear the last performance was lovely.

As a preface, I attended one of this production's first previews, and just saw it again this afternoon. Back in February, I loved this production, but found myself craving a bit more from the leads. 2 months later, I can safely say that Annaleigh and Jake gave two of the strongest and most moving performances I've ever seen. There isn't anything I can say about this production that hasn't been said already on this board. The performances, the orchestra, the chromolume, it was just magical. Watching Annaleigh and Jake fight back tears as they spoke their final lines made this afternoon into an absolute tear jerker. Not much else to say, but I am so thankful to have seen this production, and I hope the cast recording can do it justice.

OK....it's the last show of a successful run and the last thing you want the French Horn player to think about was the wrong note he/she hit at the end of one number? I mean seriously?

And some woman complained to an usher like the the usher can do something about it?

I was also at the show and can confirm that Sondheim was there.  There's nothing else to be said.  The show was absolutely magical.
