Brian, Davey - how are you guys so confident? Also, if it is indeed closing, what will be TCP's last day? Current rumor is Jan 8th because that's when Holliday's contract expires.

The timing is ideal considering load out for old show + load in for new show + tech + previews - putting us right at 3ish month mark for Bandstand's opening night.

Geez, this show needs so much work. Does it even make it through the summer?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'm very torn because I want Laura back on Broadway, but at the same time, she's been very involved with the Roman Holiday workshops, and selfishly I'd love to see her come here to SF to do the out of town try out for that.

By the time of the Broadway opening it will have been 2 years since the Paper Mill run. How do you know they didn't work on it since then? Unless you've seen a recent workshop or something I don't know why you would assume if hasn't been improved since.

I personally loved it at Paper Mill. The music is fabulous and it's a great story. Sure, there was room for improvement then, but I'm sure they didn't sit around idly in all those months that have passed. Very excited this is actually happening :)

But it's gonna be such a packed season, especially in the "new musical" category, assuming Sponge Bob and Amelie also come in..

both Spongebob & Amelie should wait. There's just too much competition this season. Spongebob could wait until the Summer to arrive & I think it would benefit them more.

Apparently they have made lots of changes. Laura looks absolutely breathtaking in that picture of her in the red dress. The marketing needs to be good if they want to sell, but I think it has a shot if people just give it a chance.

Agreed. The new artwork is just stunning. I have hopes for this! I saw it at Paper Mill and I thought it had a tremendous amount of potential. We'll see in the Spring!

Looks like the show is now just called BANDSTAND.

Any show has a shot if "people just give it a chance." I'm sure plenty of people want to, but that doesn't mean they want to pay $147 a ticket.

Yeah, but people are already criticizing from just seeing it at Paper Mill despite all the changes they're making before it opens on Broadway. People need to stop writing off shows before they even come in.

Bandstand is going into the Jacobs, will not be the Cort as The Play That Goes Wrong is going in there.

There has not been any word on The Play That Goes Wrong apart from like 1 article dating back to Jan 2016 from Playbill about the show eyeing a Broadway transfer. This is good to hear, I was actually hoping I'd get to see it.

The Play That went wrong got delay and was going to open in the 2016 season, however their writers who are also the stars who make up the Mischief Theatre Company, decided to develop and star in their new show a Comedy About A Bank Robbery, now this is off the ground and doing well they are now free to do Broadway.

The Play That Wrong got reviewed in London by Ben Brantley, who loved it - in the interval one of the cast gave him a brown envelope with 'BRIBE' strewn across it, inside was a crisp $5 bill.

I saw this at Papermill and really enjoyed it. Laura Osnes' big number at the end of act 2 is worth the price of a ticket alone.

I'm coming that week and already have tickets for Friday and Saturday night. Is it unlikely that there'll be a Saturday matinee for the first week?

My Jacobs guess was correct!

LesWickedly, it's not common to have Saturday matinees during the first week but who knows? Updated On: 11/4/16 at 03:14 PM

There were no theatres open, this was hardly your guess

I thought that the Play That Goes Wrong was taking the Lyceum since it has been announced that Indecent is taking the Cort

Thanks to Cfried's tip in the Cyber Monday sale thread -all preview mezzanine seats are $45.  I missed it on Monday but the sale was extended to today as well.   I just picked up two front mezzanine aisle seats for a total of $112 with all fees.  Can't beat that with a stick.

I also took advantage of the great deal! I got a front row center mezzanine ticket for the first preview! I really liked the show at Paper Mill, and I can't wait to see it again!

Do you think my 70-year-old grandmother would enjoy this? She usually lets me pick a Broadway show as part of my Christmas gift, so I try to select one that we'd both enjoy.

Disclaimer: She gets bored easily. She hated GGLAM and enjoyed On the 20th Century.

Your grandma sounds like a hoot :)

I haven't seen the show so don't actually have an answer for you, but based on the reviews - I'd make a safe guess of "no".
