For me I really want to see Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Drowsy Chaperone, Funny Girl, My Fair Lady,  City of Angels and And Then There Were None all get Broadway revivals!

Though I haven't seen it, I heard that the touring version of The Sound of Music is magnificent. I wonder if they could bring that to B'way.

PLATINUM with Suzanne Somers

THOU SHALL NOT with a brand new score

PETER PAN starring Tommy Tune as the boy who never grew up

NEVER GONNA DANCE minus the dancing

CONTACT with a LIVE orchestra

Seriously though, I'd love to see BARNUM again. Matt Bomer keeps saying he wants to do a musical. It may be a stretch but I'd at least audition him. Though Hugh Jackman does seem a shoo in for the role.

I truly loved STARLIGHT EXPRESS on Broadway (not the tour). I thought it was visually amazing and truly entertaining. Have no idea why it flopped though it was quite dangerous for the performers.

And KING OF HEARTS if they could only bring back the original scenic design. Visually it was one of the most beautiful and inventive shows I've ever seen. It was really heartbreaking to see it close so early.

I also loved HIGH SPIRITS but it requires a company comparable to the original 1964 cast and that could be rather difficult to duplicate.....but then again maybe not. There's always Andrea Martin as Madame Arcati. I'd cast Rachel Bay Jones as Elvira. Donna Murphy as Ruth. And since he now likes to sing I'd even consider Alec Baldwin as Charles.

It didn't take long for this thread to evolve from "what are you surprised hasn't been revived?" to yet another "what do you want to see revived?" thread.

Considering how many critical accolades it received , "City of Angels".

I'm also surprised nobody has taken a whack at "Gentlemen prefer Blondes" for at least  20 years.

Eubie! I saw this show in 1979, and I'm really surprised it never has had a revival.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Given Hamilton's success, I'm surprised no one's (publicly, at least) attempting a revival of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. I love that show, and I think it could be reimagined a little showier to be a better fit on Broadway this time around.

I seem to recall there being some talk of a revival of Carnival after the Encores production a number of years ago with Anne Hathaway and Brian Stokes Mitchell. As I recall, though, they couldn't lock Hathaway in as The Princess Diaries had just recently come out and they couldn't lure her away from Hollywood at the time.

Someone mentioned "They're Playing Our Song".  Can you imagine a revival starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker?

Pipe Dream. The Encores production i believed showed many that this Rodgers and Hammerstein score , which had not been heard in decades by most, was not too far behind their Grade A scores. The book, consisting of John Steinbeck's Cannery Row and sequel Sweet Thursday, written specifically to be staged in a Broadway musical, included many rich character from Doc, to Hazel, to Fauna.

Just please tinker with the book to give us a little less of the Cannery Row bums and their songs and a little more of the principals.

Many good shows listed above!  Let me add Six Degrees of Separation and Mass Appeal.  The former is a great play on every level.  The latter is more a vehicle for two strong actors, but it was quite popular in its time.

Also, Luv.  It was enormously popular in its time and has all but dropped off the radar.  Perhaps time has not been kind to it?  But the right trio would surely make a revival worthwhile.

I saw it as well.  This show stands alone in all "worst ever" polls.

I'm still surprised The City Center Encores production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes never got transferred, especially since it was such a success.

No!!! Hasn't he ruined enough shows this decade?

All I can say is thank God for YouTube and other video vaults. I agree with wanting to see Grand Hotel. The Tommy Tune direction and choreography look so amazing. These next two look equally as "grand", but I think that casting would definitely be a challenge.

Tommy Tune, again, for directing and choreography for "My One And Only". First, with Twiggy (and then with Sandy Duncan). Who could play those parts today? "Kickin' The Clouds Away" must have brought the house down. That must have been a tough Tony year too. The show and cast were nominated for so many. Even Denny Dillon was nominated, (but lost to Betty Buckley; no argument there). This is from the Tony Awards; first 30 seconds lists the presenters, etc.

The other would be "Coco". The 15 minute production number "Always Mademoiselle" looks like it was a sight to behold. I can't imagine that set and costumes today. Of course, Katharine Hepburn too. Like I said, thank goodness for video. Breathtaking...

Funny Girl

Jelly's Last Jam

Will Rogers Follies (maybe not surprised, but wouldn't mind seeing it)

Flower Drum Song (I know it was just revived around 15 years ago, after how many years?  I liked it okay, but would like to see a different treatment of it though).
