@ModernMillie3, when I saw Hamilton in Baltimore this past summer, I also noted at how young the male understudies are. I kind of want to see a seasoned professional in the roles of Burr or Washington. A younger Hamilton doesn't bother me as much. I happened to see the Burr stand-by at that performance and I was really disappointed. It seemed like he was in way over his head.
I've seen a couple of Angelica understudies (DC - Dorcas Leung and Philadelphia
I saw the original production a few months after it opened (and several times thereafter). Believe it or not I got my ticket on TKTS (Wednesday matinee).
I thoroughly enjoyed Tammy Grimes' performance, and her voice has never bothered me when listening to the cast recording. Wanda Richert was out that day, but Gail Benedict as Peggy Sawyer was excellent.
The original production was magical. I also enjoyed the subsequent revival, but preferred Theoni V. Aldredge&#
The Angelica Tour will be wrapping up their Philadelphia leg in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know if there will be any principal cast changes when it moves to Richmond? There are a few who have been in their present roles for over a year now.
I saw it Wednesday night (2nd preview). I'll definitely go back as it was a very uneven performance that I saw. The choreography is fine, although I miss Michael Bennett's finale. Overall, things seemed to gel during Richie's "Gimme the ball" in "Hello Twelve, Hello Thirteen".
There was one line in particular that I can't believe was left in there when Annie asks Bert Barry if she'll be a star. His response isn't worth mentioning here, but in this day and age, it was absolutely cringe-worthy.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams was an unnecessary addition.
The one thing I noticed was the lack of diversity in the cast.
She understudied Fantine in the original production of Les Miserables. I worked there when I first moved to NYC in 1987. Her Fantine was beautifully acted and sung. I'm so glad I was able to witness her performance several times.
The Angelica company of Hamilton is pretty spectacular. That was the most recent touring production I've seen. But the excellent productions I've seen outweigh the underwhelming one's.
I saw the show last night in Philadelphia for my birthday, and this show just resonates with me more and more. The only major understudy on was Cherry Torres as Angelica Schuyler. She was fantastic!! Strong stage presence, great voice and wonderful acting. I'm surprised that Stephanie Park wasn't on as she's the stand-by.
One of the reasons for this trip was to see Josh Tower as Aaron Burr, as he was out when I saw Hamilton in Baltimore. His performan
@PopsDGE, not sure what the "?" is for. I was responding to your post about seeing the show in Albany.
It makes sense that Hannah is leaving as she will have been with the tour a year. I believe she started just after the Washington, DC run last September.
Darnell Abraham is the new George Washington in the And Peggy tour. He has a beautiful voice. So glad he has the role full time.

Sorry you missed Edred Utomi. He was actually on vacation. I totally understand you being disappointed. That's exactly how I felt when I saw this company in Baltimore in July. Josh Tower (Burr) was out, and the understudy just didn't cut it for me one bit. Jon Victor Corpuz is Laurens/Phillip Hamilton. I thought he was wonderful.
I'm seeing it again in Philadelphia in September. Hoping everyone is in!
My first final performance was attending the original production of 42nd Street in 1989. I then kind of made a tradition of seeing final performances.
One of the worst for audience obnoxiousness was for In the Heights. I remember Hairspray being quite loud. There were others that seemed like regular performances. I think one of my favorites was the original production of Ragtime. Audra was s
