Read in the paper today he was cast according to Entertainment Weekly. I guess the project is moving along a lot faster than I thought it was. Updated On: 12/6/10 at 05:09 PM
Maybe the OP could go and change the original subject.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
He's not in an N2N film. There is no N2N film at this moment. The only people involved in an N2N film at this moment are the writers and the producers.
RDJ is not in "talks" for a movie. He is attached to a movie pitch set up (sold) by the writers, Team Downey, and Anonymous Content at Warner Brothers. The intent is that the film will be developed for him to star in it.
I will punch a baby if the N2N movie goes through...I swear.
Seriously?
"All our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney
We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
So, I put on my Hollywood Big Studio casting hat and cast the big budget spectacular N2N movie with
Meryl Streep - Diana - Ms. Streep starred in the highest grossing movie musical ever!
Taylor Swift - Natalie - to make up for losing out on Eponine, but if she can't sign the "bad" words, then Miley Cyrus Darren Criss - Henry - ride the hot ticket
Dan - Considered Ryan Reynolds but don't know about the chemistry with Streep - so Kevin Kline to recapture that Sophie's Choice magic
Gabe - One Direction - each Gabe scene will use a different member of the band.
Diana - KATE WINSLET - she'd be absolutely perfect.
Natalie - Emma Watson - perhaps slightly type cast but also perfect for the role.
Haven't really thought of who could play the other parts yet. Maybe Hugh Laurie as the doctor for the lulz ;P..
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I'll second Streep for Diana. Tveit should be cast as Gabe. The rest I don't care.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I really wish they would make this into a movie. NEXT TO NORMAL would be great as a movie. My ideal cast would be
Diana: Kate Winslet (thank you qolbinau, such a great idea) Dan: Tom Hiddleston maybe? if he can sing Gabe: Aaron Tveit (he's getting out into the general public's eyes) Natalie: Emma Watson would be great (again qolbinau, you're great) Henry: Mark Salling The Doctors: Johnny Depp YES!!!
