I think so. All of what I have read and seen so far says "Adults". 

Was just watching the evening news and they interviewed a woman in Tottenville, Staten Island and she said you could buy fake vaxx cards on the street there for 50 bucks. She was responding to the Mayor's mandate.

I bet you do not know, in NYC alone as per their numbers only 33% of black residents are vaccinated, do you still feel the same way now??????? These are the facts from their own website. Let's see how consistent you are, do you hate black people as much as you hate alleged conservatives?

I have what seems like a silly question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. I have had my first shot, and my second is scheduled for Aug 21. Will I be able to attend these establishments on that date, or do I have to wait the 2 weeks it apparently takes for the full vaccination to take effect? When (or based on this discussion, I suppose, "if" my card is checked, will they just be happy to see a second date, or will they be looking for a date more than 2 weeks prior?

I believe NY (going by the excelsior pass at least) doesn't count you as fully vaccinated until the second week is up. I don't have a definitive answer for you with this new policy though.

Did you really have to go all racist on us, bozo? What's your point? 

First, the lion's share of unvaccinated in New York are the extremely poor folks of whatever race. It happens that a high proportion of our black brothers and sisters are poor. (Because of "patriots" like you, I might add.) [Guess what else: middle class black people (you know, like my neighbors, well actually you don't know because I feel certain you don't have black neighbors) ARE largely vaccinated. Second, of course, since we are addressing Broadway here, let's make note of the fact that poor people don't buy tickets to Broadway shows. So I repeat: what's your point (bozo)? Our protocols discriminate against those who are not vaccinated regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, et al. I think we should be making life unpleasant for the unvaxxed, but I don't wish them ill. I am advocating keeping them well. Regarding intubation, i reserved that for one pathetic excuse for a human (maybe it's you, who knows...) who was PROUD she knew how to get a fake vax card so she could go to establishments and endanger people. Yes, I hope she's intubated because it's likely the only way she will realize her evil self. Like those idiot GOP politicians crying from their death beds when it is too late. Finally, no I don't want your nephew to die but I also would counsel him to stay away from the theatre until we get this horrible disease under control, something that would happen a lot sooner without bozos like you.

Dude COVID is a public health issue. The Vaccine requirements are because it the best way to ensure events such as theater are safe. No they shouldn't lift restrictions because black people have low vaccination rates. They need to step up as well.  Not everything is about only making rules selectively to punish certain groups. The virus has no political affiliation.

And yeah there really are no garbage states. You’ve clearly not travelled. There are great people everywhere. Just gotta get to know them.

You will have to wait until after September 4th to be considered fully vaccinated in New York.  In my opinion, of course, other states are garbage in terms of their vaccination rates among other things.

Lots of reasons (including those you mention) conspire against the poor as to lots of things including this. One glaring example: the poor are less well educated, sadly, and there is no question that there is a correlation between vaccination and education. And this is made abundantly clear with poor uneducated whites, probably to an even greater degree. 

There are great people everywhere. No one is blanket condemning the GOOD people of what are being called the garbage states. It's the governments of those states that are garbage and unfortunately the garbage men were elected by the people who voted for them. The plague of the murderer DeSantis was not put in effect by demonic intervention, for instance.

Has anyone here had employers who offered paid time off to get vaccinated ? That’s one possible factor hurting the poor. If your local vaccination center is only open Monday to Friday 9-5 which is while you are at work how are you going to get vaccinated?  What if you are working 60 hour weeks, then even centres with out of hour service is inaccessible to you. Also some people can’t drive or can afford a car and may live in an area with poor public transport.

Thanks to those who responded.

Just read something interesting in the NYT: "The NYC Covid Safe app can easily be used after being downloaded. It allows people to show a photo of their vaccination card after the first dose of a two-dose vaccine, or other proof of vaccination they may have. (One dose of a two-dose vaccine is sufficient to meet the new mandate, though that only offers a fraction of the protection gained by getting both doses.)"

I don't know that my conscience would allow me to go to the theatre before I'm fully vaccinated, but this is also the first I've seen stating that one dose is considered sufficient to meet the mandate, which I thought was interesting.

I work for PA courts and my county is one of the hotspots outside of Philly. Although my county hasn’t issued a vaccine requirement (yet), they have set up vaccine clinics across the street from the courthouse, offering all three vaccines, AND allowing those who get vaccinated at these clinics to use up to two sick days uncharged. I’d say this is their way of saying there’s no excuse not to get vaccinated.

 I’m visiting from out of state next January and hear about the Excelsior pass. I had both doses and have the Cdc card showing vaccination. Will this suffice as proof or do I need to apply and get an excelsior pass ( or are those only for NY residents?).

The Excelsior pass is only for New York residents who have been vaccinated in NY State. There’s currently an app called NYC Covid Safe where you can upload a picture of your card, but it’s unclear if a picture of a card suffices since this is a brand new mandate and there will definitely be bumps in the road.

I’d say, if you’re an out of towner or you’re unsure of taking a picture of it on an app, bring your card just in case. I know it’s slightly too large, but better safe than sorry. Get a fanny pack; they’re back in style now!
