EMMA at Everyman Theatre

Dates: 5/17/2026 - 6/14/2026

📍 Theatre:
Everyman Theatre

EMMA is an adaptation of Jane Austen's novel by Kate Hamill, directed by Laura Kepley, offering a fast-paced, modern take on the classic story of love and romance with a mischievous, feminist flair. The production features Resident Company members Katie Kleiger as Emma Woodhouse, Megan Anderson as Jane Fairfax/Mrs. Elton, Beth Hylton as Mrs. Weston, Tony Nam as George Knightley, Jefferson A Russell as Mr. Weston/Mr. Woodhouse, Helen Hedman as Miss Bates, and Zack Powell as Mr. Elton/Frank Churchill, along with Nia Zagami in her Everyman debut as Harriet Smith. Hamill's adaptation infuses the story with high energy and sharp wit, following a matchmaker so busy meddling in the lives of others that she nearly misses her own chance at happiness. The creative team includes scenic design by Daniel Ettinger, costume design by David Burdick, lighting design by Juan Juarez, and sound design by Jane Shaw.
