WICKED Returning to Hippodrome Theatre in April 2015

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2012, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre April 1-26, 2015. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale Monday, December 8 at 10:00 am.

Silver Spring Stage presents Earth and Sky by Douglas Post, directed by David Dieudonne and produced by Pauline Griller-Mitchell and Ellen Lafferty, the fuse is lit on this ingeniously plotted noir thriller when librarian-poet Sara finds out that her new boyfriend has been found dead in a Chicago back alley and because of an indifferent cop she seeks to find his killer herself. Earth and Sky will perform weekends tonight, October 31 to November 22, 2014.
Marin Alsop to Lead BSO in Didi Balle's SHOSTAKOVICH: NOTES FOR STALIN, 11/14-15

Marin Alsop leads the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in the BSO premiere of Shostakovich: Notes for Stalin, a Symphonic Play by Playwright in Residence Didi Balle. This special Off the Cuff performance on Friday, November 14 at 8:15 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore and Saturday, November 15 at 7 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall dramatizes Shostakovich's harrowing life during Stalin's murderous reign in 1930s Russia, and features actors Jered McLenigan, Richard Poe and Tony Tsendeas. Everyman Theatre Announces Vivienne Shub Memorial Fund

Everyman Theatre has announced the new Vivienne Shub Memorial Fund for Education and Access to Theatre. The Fund was established in memory of Vivienne Shub, a member of Everyman Theatre's Resident Company who passed away in September at the age of 95. The Fund was announced at Everyman's Memorial for the legendary actress on Monday, September 20th.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present the second play in its seventeenth Mainstage season, that well known western 'Twelfth Night', a rootin' tootin' six-gun shootin' comedy by Wild Bill Shakespeare. The classic comedy with a MET twist will be directed by Tim Seltzer and will run every Thursday through Sunday at Maryland Ensemble Theatre from today, October 24 through November 16.

Work is already underway for the 34th season of the Baltimore Playwrights Festival with scenes chosen for this year's BPF Freefall event. The event will be held Thursday, October 23 at Vagabonds, 806 S Broadway, Baltimore MD 21231, starting at 8:00 p.m. It will feature readings of eight 10-minute scenes from plays submitted for next year's Festival. The scenes will be performed by some of Baltimore's best community theater actors and the playwrights will be on hand to answer questions and talk about theater with the audience. Free refreshments will be provided after the event.
