Spotlighters Theatre offers Musical Theatre Masterclass with Michael Tan

Michael Tan - local vocal coach, musical director, accompanist and actor/singer - will be presenting a Musical Theatre MasterClass for young singers - age 13 through 21. This masterclass is developed by the Young Actors Academy.

Friday - July 16, 2010
9am - 2:30pm

The July 16th musical theater masterclass combines three areas for the musical theater student.

The first section will discuss the musical theater audition, including how to prepare for the audition
and what to do at the audition (and what not to do).

The second section will be a masterclass where students will perform an audition piece and
receive feedback from the teacher and other students, and then perform the piece at least once more.

The third section will address interpreting a song from picking up the music for the first time to a performance, including developing character from the lyrics, analyzing the composer's intent and how it affects character, and how to give an engaging performance (whether for an audition or in a show).

A Lite lunch is included.

Please bring your water bottle to MasterClass.
Please bring a single piece of audition music.

Cost is $50 for the 5 hour workshop, and includes all materials.
