Just last month, Olympian Danell Leyva visited Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, where he met with leading man Reeve Carney and the 9 Spider-Men from the show. Now according to the New York Post, he is in talks to join the production. An insider told NYP that 'the producers are excited about the idea of Danell joining the show.'

According to the Herald Sun, GHOST, which was to make its Australian premiere at Her Majesty's Theatre in August 2013, has been postponed due to poor advance sales. Producer Louise Withers told HS: 'It's always disappointing when there is a postponement like this but it's a very complicated business. Initially we thought we would be able to use the UK set but it will take too long to transport it in Australia where the market has to be reduced, based on the shorter seasons the show has had in the UK and the US.'

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents DruidMurphy October 17-20, 2012 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is kicking off its 2012-13, 15th anniversary mainstage season with The 39 Steps. Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! MET Associate Artistic Director Gene' Fouche' directs Patrick Barlow's adaptation of John Buchan's 1915 novel and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock which opened on Broadway in 2008 and won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. The show which The New York Times called, 'theatre at its finest' and the New York Post raved was, 'the most entertaining show on Broadway' ended its New York run after three years and record setting number of performances for a comedy, 1,135.

Lonesome Dreams, the first full-length album from rising LA-based bandLord Huron, will be released October 9 on the independent labelIAMSOUND Records. Lord Huron is a musical and visual project created by lead-singer and Michigan native-turned-Angeleno Ben Schneider. The new record follows the Mighty EP, which was praised by NPR and that Pitchfork called "an invigorating listen." Additionally The Los Angeles Times described the EP as "full of lush acoustic guitars and Midwestern-accented harmonies as warm as a winter fireplace." The first single off the new release "Time to Run" recently premiered on Pitchfork and the video for the track premiered on NPR Music. Graffiti Artist and Nightlife impresario Andre Saraiva's latest art project will be launched on Thursday, September 6th. In partnership with ABSOLUT, he has created "AndreD2", in collaboration with Brooklyn's Square Design. "AndreD2" is an interactive robot that will come to life during New York Fashion Week, and host the stateside launch of "Couloir De La Night." AndreD2 will be interviewing guests at Le Baron all week about their experience during NYC Fashion Week. This critically acclaimed program hails from France and will be making its US debut at Andre Saraiva's Le Baron Chinatown, presented by ABSOLUT TUNE, a new product from Swedish vodka maker ABSOLUT. Cate Blanchett and legendary French actor Isabelle Huppert will play murderous sisters directed by Benedict Andrews in a fresh exploration of Genet's The Maids by Andrew Upton and Benedict Andrews. Richard Roxburgh and Hugo Weaving are reunited with Uncle Vanya director Tamas Ascher to give their all for a cornerstone of 20th century theatre, Beckett's Waiting for Godot; and Tim Minchin and Toby Schmitz take on another of theatre's great double acts directed by Simon Phillips in Stoppard's comic masterpiece Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

More Bellini is in the offing for Meade at Carnegie Hall this season: a concert performance of Beatrice di Tenda with the Collegiate Chorale (Dec 5). The soprano also sings Mozart's Donna Anna in Don Giovanni for her debuts at Los Angeles Opera (Oct 11-14) and Cincinnati Opera (June 13-15). Noteworthy concert engagements in 2012-13 include Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs with the Ontario Philharmonic in Toronto (Jan 29), Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Pittsburgh Symphony under Manfred Honeck (April 26-28), and her recital debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In their first co-producing endeavor, HERE and the Hip-Hop Theater Festival in association with Collective Consciousness Theatre present the world premiere of How to Break, a new play fueled by human beat-boxing, breaking, popping and locking, linguistic flow and multimedia graffiti art. A new program is coming to town! Music Dance Theatre Workshops brings Broadway performers to Indianapolis to give personalized coaching and performance instruction to young actors in the central-Indiana arts community. All teaching artists are originally from the Midwest, most with ties to Indianapolis. These performers, many with Broadway credits, are excited to give back to the community that shaped them into the artists they have become today!

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre launches its 25th Anniversary Season with Brian Friel's THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY - with previews set to begin October 3, prior to an official press opening October 14 on the Irish Repertory's Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage (132 West 22nd Street). Performances are set to run through November 25. Ciaran O'Reilly directs.

Happy Birthday Tom Wopat! Wopat first appeared on the Broadway stage as a replacement in the 1977 musical I Love My Wife, as 'Wally'. He then appeared as a replacement in the stage musicals City of Angels, and Guys and Dolls. He finally appeared in the opening cast of the 1999 revival of Annie Get Your Gun opposite Bernadette Peters, Susan Lucci and Crystal Bernard, who played Annie Oakley. In 2008, Wopat starred on Broadway as the father in the musical A Catered Affair, and received his second Tony nomination for that performance. Wopat recently originated the role of Frank Abignale, Sr. in the musical Catch Me if You Can.
