Lonesome Dreams, the first full-length album from rising LA-based bandLord Huron, will be released October 9 on the independent labelIAMSOUND Records. Lord Huron is a musical and visual project created by lead-singer and Michigan native-turned-Angeleno Ben Schneider. The new record follows the Mighty EP, which was praised by NPR and that Pitchfork called "an invigorating listen." Additionally The Los Angeles Times described the EP as "full of lush acoustic guitars and Midwestern-accented harmonies as warm as a winter fireplace." The first single off the new release "Time to Run" recently premiered on Pitchfork and the video for the track premiered on NPR Music. To support the debut, the band will embark on a U.S. tour this fall. (See below for details).

Graffiti Artist and Nightlife impresario Andre Saraiva's latest art project will be launched on Thursday, September 6th. In partnership with ABSOLUT, he has created "AndreD2", in collaboration with Brooklyn's Square Design. "AndreD2" is an interactive robot that will come to life during New York Fashion Week, and host the stateside launch of "Couloir De La Night." AndreD2 will be interviewing guests at Le Baron all week about their experience during NYC Fashion Week. This critically acclaimed program hails from France and will be making its US debut at Andre Saraiva's Le Baron Chinatown, presented by ABSOLUT TUNE, a new product from Swedish vodka maker ABSOLUT. More Bellini is in the offing for Meade at Carnegie Hall this season: a concert performance of Beatrice di Tenda with the Collegiate Chorale (Dec 5). The soprano also sings Mozart's Donna Anna in Don Giovanni for her debuts at Los Angeles Opera (Oct 11-14) and Cincinnati Opera (June 13-15). Noteworthy concert engagements in 2012-13 include Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs with the Ontario Philharmonic in Toronto (Jan 29), Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Pittsburgh Symphony under Manfred Honeck (April 26-28), and her recital debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The announcement was made today by the show's creator and co-producer, Tony Award and Emmy Award nominated John Tartaglia.

In their first co-producing endeavor, HERE and the Hip-Hop Theater Festival in association with Collective Consciousness Theatre present the world premiere of How to Break, a new play fueled by human beat-boxing, breaking, popping and locking, linguistic flow and multimedia graffiti art. This production will play a limited engagement at HERE from October 18 - November 4, with Official Opening set for Tuesday, October 23 at 7:00pm.

A new program is coming to town! Music Dance Theatre Workshops brings Broadway performers to Indianapolis to give personalized coaching and performance instruction to young actors in the central-Indiana arts community. All teaching artists are originally from the Midwest, most with ties to Indianapolis. These performers, many with Broadway credits, are excited to give back to the community that shaped them into the artists they have become today!

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre launches its 25th Anniversary Season with Brian Friel's THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY - with previews set to begin October 3, prior to an official press opening October 14 on the Irish Repertory's Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage (132 West 22nd Street). Performances are set to run through November 25. Ciaran O'Reilly directs.

Happy Birthday Tom Wopat! Wopat first appeared on the Broadway stage as a replacement in the 1977 musical I Love My Wife, as 'Wally'. He then appeared as a replacement in the stage musicals City of Angels, and Guys and Dolls. He finally appeared in the opening cast of the 1999 revival of Annie Get Your Gun opposite Bernadette Peters, Susan Lucci and Crystal Bernard, who played Annie Oakley. In 2008, Wopat starred on Broadway as the father in the musical A Catered Affair, and received his second Tony nomination for that performance. Wopat recently originated the role of Frank Abignale, Sr. in the musical Catch Me if You Can.

Today in 2009, 9 to 5 closed at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 148 performances. 9 to 5 is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the 1980 movie Nine to Five. Resnick had co-written the screenplay with Colin Higgins, the director of the film, in which Parton had her first screen role. The musical premiered at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles in September 2008 and opened on Broadway on April 30, 2009. It was nominated for 15 Drama Desk Awards, the most received by a production in a single year. It was also nominated for four Tony Awards.

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF William Shakespeare (abridged) {revised}, the longest running comedy in London's West End, was written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield and will be directed by Rod Rich of Actors Comedy Lab. It will be performed in Raleigh Little Theatre's Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre located at 301 Pogue Street in Raleigh on September 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28 & 29 at 8 pm and on September 16, 23 & 30 at 3 pm. The price of admission is $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Beck Center for the Arts in collaboration with the Hispanic Cultural Center will host an opening reception 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, for Hispanic Heritage, Hispanic Art, a contemporary art exhibition featuring the distinctive artworks of 13 Hispanic artists. Guests will be the first to see the exhibit, meet the artists, enjoy food, music, and cash bar.
