Gary Owen returns to the stage for his fourth SHOWTIME comedy special GARY OWEN: #DOINWHATIDO, premiering Saturday, September 7 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Giada De Laurentiis has signed a new multi-year deal with the Food Network, according to Variety.

Henry Golding is in talks to star in the G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes, according to Variety.

HGTV will pick up 13 fresh episodes of its newest hit series Christina on the Coast, starring real estate and design expert Christina Anstead. The new season will spotlight Christina's custom SoCal-inspired designs for clients, as well as her personal journey with her new husband Ant Anstead, their blended family and their first baby together. The first season helped HGTV rank as the #2 cable net in the Thursday 9-9:30 p.m. ET/PT timeslot during its run. New episodes are slated to premiere in early 2020. 

NBC has ushered in the 2019-20 classes of its groundbreaking scripted directing initiatives, Female Forward and theEmerging Director Program. The initiatives aim to increase representation of female and ethnically diverse directors, respectively, by creating a pipeline into scripted television. They are the only programs in the industry that give participating directors an in-season guarantee to direct at least one episode.

Alice Phoebe Lou has announced a string of US tour dates and an appearance at the Singularity Global Summit in San Francisco taking place 8/18 - 8/21. Right after the summit, Alice Phoebe Lou will perform stripped down sets and a short 25 minute set of her new alter-ego project, strongboiat the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco on 8/22 along with two more dates the same week ending in Victoria, Canada on 8/28. In October, Alice will perform with her whole band including a date at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and Johnny Brenda's in Philadelphia. 

This fall, Craft Recordings will reissue three titles fromSocial Distortion's independent catalog on vinyl. Set for a September 27th release, the LPs include the band's 1983 debut, Mommy's Little Monster, their 2004 studio album, Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll, and 1995's Mainliner (Wreckage From the Past), which compiles early singles and rare B-sides. ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 evening newscast in Total Viewers (8.029 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.032 million), for the week of Aug. 5, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” (7.183 million and 1.031, respectively) by 846,000 Total Viewers and by 1,000 Adults 18-49. “World News Tonight” increased its Total Viewer lead year to year by 40% (vs. 606,000 for w/o 8/6/18) and won for the 45th time in the 46 weeks of the season.

Hallmark Channel and PEDIGREE Foundation will team up for a television special to help the millions of shelter and rescue dogs across the country find loving homes. Nineteen-year-old multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter JulienChang recently signed to Transgressive Records (SOPHIE, Let's Eat Grandma, Neon Indian), and shared his debut single “Of The Past,” which earned praise from the likes of Annie Mac at BBC Radio 1, The Guardian, Stereogum, Dazed, DIY and more. Today he announces his remarkable debut album, Jules. A Baltimore native and current university student, Chang(pronounced Chong) surprised his peers when he began quietly self-releasing music during his senior year of high school two years ago. 'The record was brought to life by uncertainty and experimentation, just like most everything else in life is during the summer before senior year,” Chang explains. “Even in the last weeks of recording, I was unsure of what kind of album it would turn out to be, but I think that was the point of making it—to follow inspirations indiscriminately and to whatever extent I felt.' The self-produced, self-recorded and almost entirely self-performed debut album shows Chang's fusing infectious pop melodies and experimental psych-rock with progressive jazz improvisation and sophisticated classical construction, all while spanning multiple instruments.  Comedy Central today ordered a new unscripted, interview-based series from Phoebe Robinson, the multi-talented stand-up comedian, New York Times best-selling writer and actress. In this half-hour, 10-episode untitled series, Robinson will create experiences with her guests that take us into their world and out of her comfort zone. This is Robinson's first project from her recently formed production company, Tiny Reparations.
