The month of October is Lewy Body Dementia Medical Awareness Month, and Social Issues Theatre will present The Wonderful World of Was to bring awareness. This captivating musical dramedy delves into the challenges and triumphs of living with dementia. This thought-provoking performance will be presented at The Windmill Library Theatre on Thursday, October 26. The performance is free to the public.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, features one of the prestigious hospitality programs educating students in the creative economy. The highly ranked William F. Harrah College of Hospitality is presenting A Night of a Thousand Days at UNLV, starring Tony Arias and Keith Thompson Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 and starring Bruce Ewing and Philip Fortenberry Nov. 9 and Nov. 16.

The Great American Songbook has roots in Italy, with the month of October dedicated to Italian-American Heritage and Culture month. The Heist will present these hits throughout the decades at The Duomo at Rio Las Vegas on Oct. 19 and Nov. 9.

Las Vegas pop-up chef, author, and television personality Alicia Shevetone will premiere the first episode of Season 2 of Sin City Kitchen with headliner and comedienne Luenell during a private watch party on Oct. 17.

A cult classic movie that was considered a flop when first released has become a favorite during the month of October. In 2007, Debbie Isaacs produced the horror film Ghosts of Goldfield, filmed near Tonopah, Nevada, 25 miles north of Goldfield, Nevada. Its screening has now become an annual tradition of an entertaining night of poking fun at the movie, with people screaming at the characters while laughing. The Most Horrible Horror Movie Ever event, benefiting the nonprofit Unshakeable, will be presented at The Beverly Theater on Oct. 19.
