Previews of Departing Attractions at Austin Playhouse

Containing pieces that have been written as early as 1994 as well as pieces that are still being completed, Previews of Departing Attractions is a collection of witty, yet poignant short plays tied together by loss. Over the last few decades, some pieces have come to life through Fronterafest and ScriptWorks, organizations that are both dedicated to playwrights and the development of their new works. For this production playwright Lowell Bartholomee has been commissioned for new work in addition to reworking past pieces specifically for this engagement, strengthening the thread and enhancing the humor behind stories of argumentative astronauts, softball-playing nuns, and many others.The ensemble cast includes Kareem Badr, Zac Carr, Marina DeYoe-Pedraza, David Dubose, Sarah Chong Harmer, Robert Fisher, and Juleeane Villareal.
