Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will end its twenty-first season with the musical blockbuster that is Camelot, with book and lyrics by Alan J. Lerner, and music by Frederick Loewe. Georgia Ensemble Theatre audiences will be treated to this story and fabulous music by an extremely gifted ensemble of outstanding Atlanta artists. This long-loved show is now poised to touch in new ways a generation that was around when it opened on Broadway in the early 60s, and an entirely new generation as well. GET Artistic Director Robert F. Farley directs this production. Camelot runs tonight, April 10-27, 2014, at the Theatre's home, the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest Street, Roswell, GA. Aurora Theatre continues the 2013-2014 Harvel Lab Series with a Teatro del Sol production, Mariela in the Desert by Karen Zacarias. It is 1950 and artists Mariela and Jose are living an isolated existence in the desert of Northern Mexico, haunted by the ghost of their young son. Jose is very ill and Mariela sends a telegram to their daughter encouraging her to come home. Where once the walls were beautifully decorated, now only one painting remains, and it is shrouded in mystery. This play will be performed in Spanish with English supertitles. This production features an amazing cast including the stunning Blanca Aguero in the title role of Mariela and Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony P. Preview performances are Thursday, April 10, Friday, April 11 and the matinee performance on Saturday, April 12 with the official opening night performance on Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m.

On Friday, April 11th at 8pm, at Dad's Garage Theatre Company will be producing Bud and Doug's greatest accomplishment to date (and possibly of their entire lives), Gutenberg! The Musical! In this super meta two-man musical sendup, a pair of up and coming playwrights perform a live reading of their brand new show - a big ol' Broadway-esque musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. Full of heart and boundless excitement, Bud Davenport (George Faughnan) and Doug Simon (Rene Dellefont) will perform their entire musical before your very eyes - playing all of the parts, singing all the songs, and dancing it out in hopes of hitting it big and signing a contract with one of the producers in the audience. And why wouldn't they? Gutenberg! The Musical! has it all - German history, evil monks, a love story, and of course - the greatest man of all time, Johann Gutenberg.

The Atlanta Fringe Festival has announced the return of the ever-popular Easter Art Hunt, where, like so many Easter eggs, pieces of art will be hidden and free to whoever finds them. This year's event, a partnership between the Atlanta Fringe Festival, the East Atlanta Community Association and East Atlanta Kids Club, will be an all-day family-friendly throwdown, featuring live music, food trucks, a children's egg hunt and Easter-themed crafts - all leading up to the Art Hunt at 1:00 p.m. The festivities, which are completely free and open to the public, will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 12, at Brownwood Park in East Atlanta. As in years past, the hidden artwork will come from local artists, with last year's hunt boasting pieces by local favorites Catlanta, Evereman, and R. Land.
