The Belgrade's Making Memories Brings The Magic Of Theatre To Families In Need This Christmas

With less than 10 sleeps to go until Sleeping Beauty opens, the Belgrade Theatre's Making Memories campaign is once again hoping to build on the tremendous success of last year's Christmas fundraiser.

Set up to help enable local families in need to access theatre, Making Memories has snowballed in success over the last six years, raising a staggering £33,063. This has supported 2,228 families across Coventry and Warwickshire to experience the transformative power of theatre by attending shows at the Belgrade Theatre.

As any regular visitor to the Belgrade will know, a trip to the theatre can be a powerful experience, bringing people together and cultivating treasured memories that can last a lifetime. Unfortunately, due to a wide range of circumstances beyond their control, including financial hardship or illness, many families across Coventry and Warwickshire don't get the chance to create these memories, with tickets to the theatre a luxury they simply can't afford.

That's where Making Memories comes in. This Christmas, the Belgrade is aiming to raise enough money to give around 140 families (or 700 people) the chance to enjoy an unforgettable visit to the theatre - but it needs your help to hit that target!

  • A donation of just £15 will enable one child to see Sleeping Beauty

  • £36 will enable one child and one adult to enjoy the show.

  • £60 will enable a whole family of four to watch the show.

Tickets are allocated via referral through the Coventry Foodbank, with the help and support of other charitable organisations across the city.

If you'd like to support the campaign, you can donate online via Local Giving at https://localgiving.org/charity/belgradetheatre or call the box office on 024 7655 3055. You can also donate via the bucket collections on the door when you come to see Sleeping Beauty.

If you're eligible, don't forget to Gift Aid your donation to ensure that it goes even further.

The Belgrade Theatre Trust is a registered charity (number 219163). This means that all the money given, raised or earned is not distributed as profit but kept and reinvested in its work in the community. The Belgrade relies on the continued support of our audiences, funders, corporate partners, Members and donors to develop its artistic and educational work and remain central to the communities it serves.

Set your alarm and don't get caught napping when the nation's dreamiest panto comes to Coventry this Christmas. Featuring a Dame, a dragon and a dozing princess, Sleeping Beauty promises to delight the whole family with feelgood festive fun.

Sleeping Beauty shows at the Belgrade Theatre from Wed 21 Nov until Sat 5 Jan. Tickets are available to book now by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055, or visiting www.belgrade.co.uk where prices are even cheaper.
