THE FAZZINO RIDE, designed by internationally renowned 3-D pop artist Charles Fazzino, official artist of the 2012 Olympic Games and Super Bowl XLVI, celebrates its official unveiling Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. with an opening night gala at The Barrington Gallery of London (572 Fifth Avenue - between 46th and 47th Streets).

At 9 p.m., THE Fazinno RIDE will invite 49 fortunate New Yorkers to experience The RIDE.

THE Fazzino RIDE, a new traveling theatre, has been designed as a visually choreographed piece of kinetic art that will feature new interactive content and street performances, allowing passengers to view New York City through the 3-D artist’s whimsical eyes from their front-row stadium-style seats. Fazzino has created a special design wrap for the motor coach, making THE Fazzino RIDE a 75-minute moving work of interactive art.

Directed by Richard Humphrey, THE Fazzino RIDE features original content and videos of Fazzino's New York 3-D paintings on the forty interactive screens aboard. THE Fazzino RIDE also features original music written by Patrick Noth and a new cast of specialty performers who entertain along the 4.2 mile journey through mid-town Manhattan.

Charles Fazzino’s New York City characters and cultural icons have been brought to 12-ton-bus-size life in vibrant colors that have been embellished, by hand, with more than 2,500 Swarovski crystals.

The motor coaches are events in their own right. They are specifically designed theatrical vehicles; the tallest allowed by federal law, fitted with stadium-style seating that orients 49 participants sideways so as to look through the massive windows that deliver New York as its own show. Each motor coach’s external speakers and lighting allow riders and on-board performers to interact with THE RIDE’S street performers as well as anyone else they pass on the street.
