'Sunday at The Met' Program to Focus on 'Ettore Sottsass' Exhibition  ImageThe next program in the Sunday at The Met series, on October 1, will explore the major themes of the exhibition Ettore Sottsass: Design Radical as well as the life of the powerhouse Italian architect and designer.

The discussion begins at 2 p.m. with design icons David Kelley, the founder and chairman of the global design and innovation company IDEO and founder of d.school at Stanford University's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design; Johanna Grawunder, designer, architect, and partner at Sottsass Associati from 1989---- 2001; and Christian Larsen, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Met and curator of Ettore Sottsass: Design Radical.

The exhibition presents key works in a range of media throughout Sottsass's inspired career. In this Sunday at The Met conversation, Sottsass's work will be examined through the lens of his life and firsthand accounts, illuminating his unique and groundbreaking approach to design.

Sunday at The Met is an ongoing afternoon program that provides insight into major exhibitions as well as the Museum's collection. The programs feature different combinations of lectures, films, discussions, readings, panels, demonstrations, and performances. They are free with Museum admission; no tickets or reservations are required unless otherwise noted.

The next program in the series, on October 15, will be "Rediscover Rodin," about Auguste Rodin and the many connections between the artist and his work and The Met collection.
