Studio Tenn's 2018-19 Season Opens With New Adaptation of FRANKENSTEIN

Studio Tenn's 2018-19 season promises "yet another year of original works, family classics, musical masterpieces and Broadway blockbusters," as the company celebrates its ninth season.

The 2018-19 season includes:

Frankenstein, August 31 - September 9; adaptation by A.S. Peterson

Disney's Beauty and the Beast, December 7 - 30; Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Howard Ashman; Tim Rice, Book by Linda Woolverton

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, February 8 - 17; by Tennessee William

The Frank Sinatra Legacy, March 14 - 17

Damn Yankees, May 17 - June 2; Words and Music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross; Book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop.

Beginning its ninth season with an all new original production, Studio Tenn celebrates the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's gothic novel, Frankenstein. Pushing the limits of science and morality in his search for love and purpose, Victor Frankenstein unleashes a creation that he cannot control. This new stage adaptation by A.S. Peterson (The Battle of Franklin) promises to leave audiences pondering their own sense of belonging long after the lights come up.

Just in time for the holiday season, Studio Tenn promises to captivate families with the "tale as old as time" - Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which aims to leave audiences wholly enchanted by Studio Tenn's trademark eye-popping spin on this Disney treasure.

Stage and screen star John Schuck stars as the volatile "Big Daddy" Politt in Studio Tenn's production of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The Politt family has never had an honest conversation, but now that everyone's gathered under one roof vying for a massive Mississippi inheritance, each must confront a lifetime of secrets and lies to discover a moment of truth.

The Studio Tenn Legacy Series brings its sixth edition of the renowned theatrical concert back to its hometown of Franklin - and the historic Franklin Theatre - for The Frank Sinatra Legacy, which honors the timeless talents of the Rat Pack legend. An American singer, actor and producer who's one of history's most popular and influential artists of the 20th century, The Frank Sinatra Legacy features hits such as "My Way," "New York, New York," and "Come Fly with Me" from Sinatra's eclectic variety of best-selling music and medleys that are sure to take you back to the swooning sounds of Sinatra's dreamy baritone.

To wrap up the 2018-19 season, Studio Tenn takes audiences out to the ballgame for the season's finale - the blockbuster musical Damn Yankees. The Tony Award winner for best musical, best performance, best choreography and more takes audiences out of the dugout and onto the field in a unique look as Joe Boyd struggles with his commitment to win against those "damn Yankees" or to those he loves the most. Featuring classical musical theatre selections such as "Shoeless Joe," "You Gotta Have Heart," and "Whatever Lola Wants," follow Boyd on his quest to save his team, and his soul, before he strikes out.

Performances in the 2018-2019 season will be held at Jamison Theater and the historic Franklin Theater. Ticket prices range from $35 - $90, with a 15% discount on any four-show package and 20% discount on a five-show package. For more information, visit www.studiotenn.com or call (615) 541-8200.
