Tom Greenwald has been promoted to Executive Creative Director at SpotCo. The announcement was made by Drew Hodges, President and Founder of the agency.

In making the announcement, Hodges said, "Tom Greenwald has been with SpotCo from its inception in 1997, and has always shown a unique ability to be funny, calm, inventive, and innovative across the wide spectrum of our diverse projects. Clients count on him to be straightforward in a storm, and creative on a dime, and he always delivers. He is going to help us expand how to market not just Broadway, but all kinds of live entertainment in the coming years."

In Greenwald's current position of Creative Director/Broadcast and Copy, he is responsible for all copywriting, radio and broadcast materials. His new duties will include an expanded creative role throughout the agency, as well as the lead creative contact for Spotco's clients.

Prior to joining SpotCo, Greenwald was a creative director at Grey Entertainment. His past experience includes writing the book and the lyrics to the successful Off-Broadway musical "John & Jen," with music by Andrew Lippa.

Additionally, SpotCo announced that Ilene Rosen has been hired as the Director of Business Development, a new position. Originally an Account Executive at the agency working on such high-profile shows as Rent and Avenue Q, Ilene returns to SpotCo after spending three years as Marketing Director at the renowned Joseph Papp Public Theater.

Hodges added, "Ilene Rosen will play a key role in attracting new live entertainment business beyond Broadway -- both in New York and nationally -- which excites me, since I began my career working on projects in all the arts. Ilene has that golden enthusiasm that helps new clients feel excited and at home."

SpotCo has catapulted into Broadway's hottest ad agency, representing nearly half the shows running on Broadway. No other shop is as adept at creating innovative, ground-breaking campaigns that are sophisticated, engaging, and most importantly, can cut through an environment saturated with entertainment options. After winning the Tony Award for Best Musical for In The Heights, the agency is collaborating with the newly formed DreamWorks Theatrical on their first musical Shrek and Universal's Working Title on the smash hit Billy Elliot. Another high-profile show SpotCo is opening is Neil LaBute's controversial play reasons to be pretty, which is leaping to Broadway in March after a critically acclaimed run off B'way.

And 2008 has already proved to be SpotCo's best year ever. The agency certainly attracts the top shows, as evidenced by the impressive number of awards won in 2008 by their clients. The company represented 62 Tony nominations last year, which resulted in 14 Tony wins including Best Play and Best Musical. Over the past decade SpotCo's shows have won an impressive 6 Pultizer Prizes.

Recently SpotCo joined forces with the venerable British advertising agency Dewynters. The two agencies, known as innovators on both sides of the Atlantic, are joining forces to create a global super shop that can reach rapidly expanding audiences.
