Photos: CANCIONES In Rehearsal for Spring World Premiere

Take a look inside rehearsals for CANCIONES, a new immersive production presented in a private home in Flatbush, Brooklyn in newly released photos.

The world premiere is produced by Radical Evolution, Latinx Playwrights Circle, The Sol Project, and Boundless Theatre Company, and will run May 2 through May 24.

The site-specific experience invites audiences into a family gathering with the Guerrero family, unfolding across multiple rooms of the home. Scenes take place simultaneously in spaces such as the kitchen, living room, and patio, with audience members moving throughout the environment as the story develops.

Inspired by the album Canciones de mi Padre by Linda Ronstadt, the production combines elements of live music, including mariachi performance, with interactive storytelling. The narrative centers on three generations of a family navigating legacy, conflict, and identity during a reunion that reveals long-held secrets and rivalries.

The performance runs approximately two hours and includes a family-style meal served during the event.

Performances will take place May 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m.; May 6 (press preview) and May 7 (opening) at 7:30 p.m.; May 8 at 7:30 p.m.; May 9 and 10 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; May 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 p.m.; May 16 and 17 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; May 19, 20, 21, and 22 at 7:30 p.m.; May 23 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and May 24 at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $35 and are available in advance online. The exact address of the Flatbush venue will be provided upon ticket purchase.
