Neil Argo, Composer and Orchestrator for Aaron Spelling Dramas, Dies at 71

Neil Argo, a composer and orchestrator who worked on such shows as Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210 and Wild America, has died at age 71, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Argo's talent manager Otto Vavrin II announced he died Thursday of heart failure at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona,

Argo did music for Spelling's production company shows such as Dynasty, The Colbys, Hotel, Burke's Law and Hearts Are Wild. He also scored the theme for Wild America, along with countless episodes of the show which aired on PBS from 1982-94.

Argo composed the 1993 Emmy-winning National Geographic special Survivors of the Skeleton Coast and was the recipient of 15 Telly Awards for his advertising work.

Survivors include his wife, Zenna.
