DM Playhouse Presents LITTLE RED HEN at Friday Funday

Join the Des Moines Community Playhouse on Oct. 27 for "The Little Red Hen." This story is part of the 2017-18 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at the Playhouse, Friday, Oct. 27, at 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, and 1:30 PM. Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length. The performance at 10:45 AM will have audio description, provided by IRIS. Admission is $6 per person, adults and children. October's featured story is "The Little Red Hen." The Little Red Hen has to do all the work while the other animals are sleeping and playing. No one will help her bake the bread. What will happen when it's time to eat the bread?

Friday Funday performances are held monthly, September 2017-April 2018. The new season features a variety of stories, including "The Little Red Hen," Oct. 27, 2017; "The Frog Princess," Nov. 17, 2017; "The Elves and the Shoemaker," Dec. 15, 2017; "The Three Little Pigs," Jan. 12, 2018; "The Mitten," Feb. 2, 2018; "Pinocchio," Mar. 2, 2018; and "Sleeping Beauty," Apr. 6, 2018.

The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
